Mcgriff was always a HOF to me. His career resume was great. Rolen was a underrated hitter. He deserved the hall just from his defense. GOAT at 3rd defensively

I love you scottie you're the best third baseman I've ever seen thanks for the memories you will be missed and you deserve the hall of fame

Incredible speech, incredible ballplayer, and while I know there are some out there who may have felt Rolen wasn't deserving of the hall. I can tell you in all my years of watching the game, Scott Rolen is part of a very select list of the greatest to have ever played the hot corner. Maybe he didn't reach the offensive milestones because of injuries, but to see what he accomplished with them is nothing short of incredible. Take those injuries and setbacks in his career out of the equation, you're then looking at arguably the best defensive third baseman to ever play the game, and in the Top 5 all-time offensively.

But you don't get to cherry-pick the best parts of a player's career. Rolen was a very good player, but he was not a Hall of Fame player.

being from the city of Philadelphia it's difficult not to smash the thumbs down button to boo him one more time.

Class act all around. Rolen is a gamer, his jersey was always dirty, he played the game with integrity and heart, this is his crowing moment!

Scott is 3rd all time at 3B for average war in a 162 game season. Only he and Mike Schmidt have over 300 HRs and at least 8 gold gloves. Listen to players who played against him. Guy is one of the handful of greatest at the position. Ever. “Seeing mom and dad walk to their seats while at 3B. Yep. That got me.

Class act part of one of my favorite Cardinals teams of all time. Loved watching those Cardinals teams for about 5 years

Sclo cool St Louis has had the best third basemans of all time. With that being said I think when its said and done, Nolan Arenado is going to be the very best!!. It just doesn't get any better defensively and his offense is great as well.

With all due respect to Scott Rolen, why is Dale Murphy not in the HOF? They have very similar stats. Its hard to take this committee seriously any longer. Again, respect to Mr. Rolen and congratulations.

Because one is a generationally great defensive player at the most under represented position in the HOF with a good bat. If he wasn't in he'd be the best 3B not in the HOF And the other is a career .265 hitter with 398 home runs and a Lower WAR of a decent many OF snubs. Whose career was essentially over at the age of 31. The numbers say he is not.

Joe Carter was the one people were afraid to face more than McGriff in the Bluejays How the Fck is Joe Carter not in the Hall !!!!!

One trick pony. It’s everything offense, defense, base running, ops, slugging, on base percentage, fielding percentage. It’s not all about homeruns

Joe Carter isn’t even that close man.
@Jamestown-y9j Жыл бұрын
Have you checked out his career stats. A walkoff Homer in 7th game of a World Series is not enough to waltz into the HOF, decent ballplayer, but nowhere near a HOFer

kind of like nfl hall of fame and rock and roll hall of fame some in dont deserve it some not deserve to be in

Anyone who watched this man play knows we were not seeing an all time great. Good player. Not hall of fame worthy. To put this guy in and leave out Curt, Kent, and the obvious ones.. MLB officially destroys its own HOF.
