The over heat is all I’ve ever known and it really sucks to have that and a bump penalty and a cool down penalty and dead hard validation now putting you into cool down and so many maps just suck as billy. lerrys,haddonfield ,midwitch (kinda), personally I hate pale rose as billy because you look up when sprinting meaning you can’t see the stumps and boxes that all have collision for you but not blight oh oh and the Yokohama estate YOU BUMP ON THE VINES IN THE STAIRS every rock has collisions that are not consistent with thier view model at all the statues hit boxes are weird the map is shaped in a way that keeps you from sawing around the map without turn rate addons… then there’s the game and people just being rude af in post game because I was practicing hard shit and this is probably Tin foil hat shit but I swear when I pick billy I get sent inside way way too much for it to be a Coincidence I think there is a cheat The lets you See the killer and force a map without an offering I played only billy for a week and got like five outdoor maps but I got lerrys 30+ times almost consecutively

Super hype you are learning him. Play him for a couple of days and you just start to realize that he is stronger than most think. Great map mobility, great at getting quick downs. I honestly don't run slowdown perks on him because I am confident enough I can generate enough pressure with him by playing well

He isn't S tier like Nurse, Hag, Blight or Spirit. But he is certainly stronger than freaking Wraith. You might not agree, but while(today) Billy is the most underrated killer, Wraith is by far the most overrated. He is not significantly better than the other stealth killers, and he most certainly doesn't stand to the stronger anti-loop/mobile killers.

Well those ratings are meant to tell you how hard a killer is to UNDERSTAND not to master. Billy is super easy to understand - you just have a chainsaw one shots survivors. Where as Freddy you need to understand what dream world does, how your snares work, when survivors are not able to be pulled into the dream world.

Also there are a few thing you need to learn as huntress more than you have as a Billy, mainly that you cannot chase people normalny because you are a 110 killer and you have to rely soly on your power.

Yes, Billy's ability is easy to understand, but it's not easy to even be good with. Learning to 99 your chainsaw, keeping an eye on the overheat meter, curving around corners, bait revving, and so much more are all parts of Billy's kit that are basically required in order to play him well.

i think it's because they use the world viewmodel for billy to properly emulate his stilted stepping in first-person, while for other characters they use the standard first-person viewmodel, which is essentially drawn as an overlay on top of your screen

Yeah nurse is extremely straight forward to play once your able judge your blink distance, not to mention she legitimately has to follow no rules to the game unlike the other killers. Billy super hard actually get downs with his chainsaw not to mention he has to follow the rules of loops

As an oldschool Billy main, the billy that is in the game is not my Billy. Old add ons were overtuned, full stop. I usually just used the grey add ons unless it was a sweatstack and I just wanted to be an ass. Instead of just nerfing them significantly (maybe make the effect of the greens about what the old greys were and scale the others down idk), his "rework" did nothing but introduce a new level of muscle memory for players as the entire chainsaw animation is just different (hard to put into words but it just feels off). The constant screaming assaults your ears constantly with his already annoying chainsaw volume, resulting in you either killing your ears or playing with a lower sound to compensate and nerfing your tracking abilities. Every single add on was gutted except for the engravings, which only recently got their anti-overheat synergy tuned down, as well as reworking a couple of his completely useless ones such as the pighouse gloves. His Iridescents are a joke, but using the apex muffler at least spares you some volume for a game or 2, might as well since unless you're playing the epic curve Billy (which I never was and haven't bothered to learn post nerf because I can't be bothered to get beyond decent at it) you really don't ever need more than 1 engravings and whatever random garbage you're feeling. Mother's helpers are almost passable for spirit fury enduring, but with the current pace of the game and the fact that most people will just run you on TL walls once they realize your build it gets a lot harder. Overheat never really even comes into play for me personally, the chainsaw only ever overheats when I'm trying to 95% of the time. The mechanic was introduced because, as demonstrated by how useless his non-overheat add ons are, they couldn't think of anything to give him. Modern billy can be summed up by annoyance. Annoyance at pointless mechanics and useless add-ons, annoyance at the inability to use your power without curving in most loops in the game, annoyance at the shadow of himself billy is now. Genuinely might be the worst killer in the game and its a tragic fall from grace that hurts to see.

Trying to learn billy i would recommend lopro chains and the one that reduces your hit cone by 30% save engravings for after you start getting good at hitting your saw because they make it harder to time due to the charge up

(I'd be much more concerned trying to play Huntress, Blight or Oni on Console than Nurse tbh.). And even if the aiming is a little bit harder, you can still teleport through loops which is easily the most powerful thing a Killer can do in the game :D

I've been playing a lot of Billy lately. He is quite fun, though I will say he is DEFINITELY harder than most every killer simply due to how difficult it is to properly utilize his saw in chase. I often trap myself in a cycle of wasting too much time in chase trying to get the chainsaw, and often more my lack of skill with the saw leads to me getting spun more than I want to admit. Still, I love the deceptively hard challenge of getting the instant down!

I mainly play on controller as well, and it's not too much worse. I mained billy around the time oni came out, until the nerf to billy, and the parts that make billy hard are more knowledge oriented than anything. Controls during chainsaw are pretty similar due to reduced turning (unlike blight). Knowing when and where to chainsaw are what is so hard regardless of input device.

Billy is the hardest killer. He may be strong and versitale with instant down and mobility but his anti chase is like fair and hard. He really requires you to be good at chase with M1 based killers with small chances of outplaying but really dependent on the survivors you are playing against. If you want to get better at curving. Chainsaw curving sensitivity is based on your controller sensitivity so adjust it to your liking. I personally use 70% controller for keyboard. When I play controller. 60%. But experiment and test which one fits you. I play mostly controller on billy. Keyboard I did a bit for fun. Also Scott for billy with pallets. If you aim upwards with your camera it will hit over the pallet and not break, this also can make you bump. If you aim down it will break the pallet. It has a small reach compared to other weapons. Also scott if you push a survivor one direction to zone the survivor. You can do this with your saw and curve the corner to break it. Same concept with bubba but more efficient.

I think it also depends on how you play billy, if you only go for chainsawing people when they're out in the open have have nowhere to go and m1 them the rest of the time rather than trying to only m2 then hes not that bad (I recommend trying to m2 only)

I've been learning Billy on Switch ever since September last year, and it has definitely let me adjust to the strange controls that Switch has compared to say Xbox or PS4, cuz the cursor/movement (for some reason) is set more at a fixed speed and at the direction you are pushing the joystick (almost like a D-pad). In other words, it is hard.

Hillbilly is so fun to watch. On another note I agree with his high skill ceiling. Learning flicks and how to play around loops around him is just a tad harder than blight. Unfortunately it seems that his average overall power in general will often make you think that the player isn’t that good at hillbilly.

I think hillbilly had a great idea in mind... Giving you a high reward for using your power right... Blight I think does the same thing but has less punishment but less of a reward but if you do m2 only of both I think blights slip cap would be higher. Also nurse feels kinda shitty after they changed her... Like blinking is delayed. That just me or anyone else?

im a console curve billy believe it or not, but i hope you enjoy him. hes pretty hard but once you learn how to use him properly hes still very strong and satisfying to play. maybe you could try green engraving + punctured muffler until youre consistent with it, then move onto whatever addons

It's a shame Billy isn't played as much, but at the same time it's fair on why people don't really play him. He's really fun to go against, even when he turns out to be the deciding victor in the end. The chases are fun and dangerous if the Billy knows what they're doing, those 180 turns are scary

I actually run STBFL on Billy and it works great as a crutch if the survivors force you to M1 a lot.

Billy is only as hard to play as survivors make it out to be for him, if you get good survivors that have experience vs Billy and you'll never land a chainsaw on them unless they're out in the open with no resources, he used to be able to challenge survivors at loops and windows when he had insta saw or the crack add-ons but now that those are gone it's very much in the survivors favor.
