I disagree. Having line brawls every period is corny af and kind of damages the integrity of hockey fights. The reason you don't see much of this anymore is becaue officials are actually LESS hype about breaking up earlier fights, and therefore it doesn't boil up to this point as often anymore. You know the actual OBJECT of the game is to score more goals than your opponent, right? Do we _really_ still need guys playing 6 minutes per game, racking up 400 PIMs a season, and dying of CTE issues a year after retiring?

I don't think Stevens was afraid of Domi hurting him in a fight, since he fought several tough guys earlier in his career. However, I think Stevens was definitely afraid of LOOKING BAD in a fight with Domi, which he surely would have. Stevens can fight, but he's losing 8 out of 10 fights against a heavyweight of Domi's caliber. Part of Stevens' game wasn't just physical play, but also showing up and intimidating the other team. Anyway, I always enjoy reading comments but I must say I'm a little surprised at how many negative comments there are about Scott Stevens. Am I missing something? Wasn't he a great player and Captain? Wouldn't you take Stevens over Domi? No way was Domi as good as Stevens! Not even close. Isn't that what it's all about?? If you wanted a Goon, then yes take Domi. But choosing a player to build a team around; take Stevens. I should mention that I am a DEVILS FAN so that may play into it a bit though...
