I too learned of him late, not until my 50s with Its Raining Today coming up on my Spotify algorithms. So much respect for someone who found popular success, then decided on his own terms "Nah, I'd rather be true to myself and a bit weird".

Bowie was a great fan of Scott's. Both followed untrodden paths, Never repeating themselves, breaking into new territory, often into the 'Shock of the New', Bless em both. Trailblazers - Scott especially - right from 'Montague Terrace in blue " I new something completely unique was emerging - with a little acknowledgement to Jacques Brel .

You still have the most amazing voice that I fell in love with 50 years ago when I saw you live at Bury Palais in the mid 1960s. I now live in Portugal but would love to see you somewhere in UK when I visit my elderly Mum. An enduring fan who last saw you on jools holland. Sue Cooper

this song sums up the young scott's world view to perfection, and in unison through the great mystery of art our own reflection and interpretation of his work and emotive imagining of human existential despair. whats the weather like scott? its raining of course. What are you doing? staring out a window...of course. Whats on your mind scott? a girl...that empty meloncholic space in my heart...and my lonely observations of a world slowly passing by.

Is there a way to find more videos of his TV show or just videos of him singing, talking, whatever... I want to go back and live my life over. I bet I don't miss him again!!!! (always knew the Walker Brothers but only as in "sung by" I don't EVER remember seeing a pic of them) I've had the stay in bed flu for 4 days now. Somehow I discovered KZbin is full of this wonderful voice and videos catch SOME of his incredible... hmmmm? EVERYTHING? Shall I babble on? Nawwww, I'll stop not and listen more (since 4 am I've been mesmerized. It's 11 hours later and still floating on his cloud)

Not really. At the time, videotape was expensive so it was erased and recycled. They could, of course, have copied it onto film but people don't get well-paid management jobs at the BBC based on their intelligence, but through their connections. They wiped loads of Dusty Springfield Show tapes too, as well as early Till Death US Do Parts. No doubt they were re-used for Terry & June!

It's too bad that such a great American songwriter is rendered into such obscurity (here in the US) that his name is to be overshadowed by some union-busting asshole politician. May the former outlive the latter. (Sorry bringing politics into a conversation about music, I just found that interesting)
