I too learned of him late, not until my 50s with Its Raining Today coming up on my Spotify algorithms. So much respect for someone who found popular success, then decided on his own terms "Nah, I'd rather be true to myself and a bit weird".

Bowie was a great fan of Scott's. Both followed untrodden paths, Never repeating themselves, breaking into new territory, often into the 'Shock of the New', Bless em both. Trailblazers - Scott especially - right from 'Montague Terrace in blue " I new something completely unique was emerging - with a little acknowledgement to Jacques Brel .

this song sums up the young scott's world view to perfection, and in unison through the great mystery of art our own reflection and interpretation of his work and emotive imagining of human existential despair. whats the weather like scott? its raining of course. What are you doing? staring out a window...of course. Whats on your mind scott? a girl...that empty meloncholic space in my heart...and my lonely observations of a world slowly passing by.

Not really. At the time, videotape was expensive so it was erased and recycled. They could, of course, have copied it onto film but people don't get well-paid management jobs at the BBC based on their intelligence, but through their connections. They wiped loads of Dusty Springfield Show tapes too, as well as early Till Death US Do Parts. No doubt they were re-used for Terry & June!
