Scott Walker (RIP) was great, a true artist and great performer before his long self-imposed isolation from the world in the 1970s, he was merely 24 years old here. Also possibly David Bowie's biggest influence or at least one of his very favorite artists, and they became good friends. There is a great Scott Walker documentary called 30th Century Man that anyone interested in music should check out.

It's one of my all time favourite songs, I'd listen to most of Scott Walker's back catalogue ahead of the beatles or the stones.

Scott Walker was one of the great singers to ever live imo, he was absolutely huge in the 60s. On par with some of the biggest stars in the uk at that time.

Oh don't worry, he sang serious stuff too! Check out 'Joanna', by Scott Walker, it's one of the greatest love songs ever recorded!! Any song by his band, The Walker Brothers is also a good bet!

Hi Mike... seeing you smile when the song is playing is cool.. Scott Walker was one of the Walker Brothers from the 60's ...their most well- known song is "The sun aint Going to Shine anymore". This song is an english translation of the the great Belgian singer Jacques Brel. ( David Bowies AMSTERDAM is another, and the originals are in french) Scotts albums 1,2,3 and 4 contain many songs by Brel, but also many by Burt Bacharach and Hal David... Keep enjoying ps.. I do listen to them all, and these are many of my favourites.

Was it Jacque Brel who wrote Bach Goes To Town? Listen to Walking in the Rain with headphones /ear buds - the rain sound travels through the head from one ear to the other - astonishing. E❤

PS. The walker brothers weren't brothers at all. And they were all American, not British. I've been into music since around the mid 50s - the time of the big bands and crooners, and then the transition to pop music. E❤.

Another powerhouse singer (John Farnham being my top favourite). I used to describe Scott Walker's voice as honeyed oak, wrapped in silk and draped in velvet. For your own interest /enjoyment try No Regrets.. Joanna. . The Lights of Cincinnati. And I think he did cover Take me home Country Roads? All music from the 60s/70s era. Oct''24. UK. E❤. .

Wow!! never heard of this one before. I suppose some of the song content might have made it unplayable on the conservative TV stations in Australia at the time...

Scott Walker is worth looking into, he was a fantastic singer/song writer. He was originally in the Walker Brothers who had a big hit with The Sun Aint Gonna Shine Anymore.
