Tribal Tech is one of the greatest jazz bands ever. I hope one day people realize how special these guys are. I am a fusion jazz fanatic and they are among the best.

I had the pleasure of playing bass with Scott ...in his very younger days(TEEN)We had a band called Pulse...with Harry Johnson and David Hineline...Don't know if he would remember...but i'm glad i was able to fill in on his learning adventure...i knew he would make it..i am so proud of him...and am glad to have been part of his life!YOU GO SCOTT!Love you music and sound.....Far out and groovy as we spoke in those days!

Listening to this music ignites a fire in my soul. It's consuming, actually. Just sitting down & becoming emotionally involved is eventually exhausting in the most cathartic way. I can't help but wonder how these performers survive the physical & emotional expression, but I'm so very glad they do! Geniuses I say!
@Chisuz10 жыл бұрын
honest words... have been listening to the vital tech tones version mostly. it is more direcct. feeling like i have missed out on the tribal tech in its own right.... same effect: it takes you to some other plane. wouldnt agree on the consuming part tho. if i listen to the VTT album i feel like bursting with energy after : D good!

Before the first Tribal Tech record, I'd heard Scott Henderson's playing for the first time on Jeff Berlin's "Champion" album. Instantly hooked. "Spears" introduced me to Gary Willis, still one of my favorites 25+years later. What a great, great, band.

No one has ever, nor can, play the blues like Scott Henderson. Amazing guitarist!! But I was sad when he left the Chick Corea Electric Band in 1986 or thereabouts. He is not a great composer and his work with Chick is exceptional... Check out Silver Temple here on KZbin, magnificent. Also, as a result of leaving prematurely, he didn't become as big a name as he would have otherwise. But, each to his own destiny, Scott is the biggest tdwr! Downbeat, original phrase, talent deserving wider recognition! One of the best!!

Scott's soloing & tone are amazing here. I like his older style of playing so much more. When he was more fluid & Holdsworth like, than his present raw Beck style bluesy playing. Having said this, Scott is still amazing when ever he picks up a guitar. My top 3 Fusion players forever!!!

Man he really playes his socks off himself here...Having that said I think that it's so great that he's developed his playing through the years. Makes him so much more interesting. Take Mike Stern for ex, who has stayed with the same sound and style for 30+ years.. It's great but pretty old & boring after 30 + years.
@BarryKunz6411 жыл бұрын
thats cool. Im sure he would remember your band you had with him. music is tough to make a living at. like scott here has played with Chick etc etc ,,, ummm so what sre you doing then if your not playing for a livin? Hey look, no Kinsey or Covington and Tribal Tech still sounded great and powerful. Was Willis even there playing on this because he wasn't even being shown on this video. Hard to even see or tell he is there. LOL. The absolute Greatest fusion band of all time and they don't make records anymore because one band member (Gary Willis) moved to Barcelona and lives there now. Stupid they haven't moved on and got another bass player. Tribal Tech had other band members in the past before Covington and Kinsey. Robertino Pagliari could have EASILY replaced WIllis a long time ago and Tribal Tech still could have been making records and playing. Why Henderson doesn't want to make more great music with Tribal Tech I don't get it. His Trio is SUBSTANDARD improv boring crap musically in comparison and Henderson probably knows this. So wtf? The Led Zeppelin of fusion music and fans get a new album every 10 years? LOL. Sounds like Tom Scholz and how he wasted time with making Boston albums LOL. It's a shame. Most artists and guitar players know how to play ALL their past tunes. It's no wonder why Henderson forgets how to play his old tunes. He lets 10 years go by. I asked him (years ago back in the day at LaVee Lee gigs) why they never play music from their "Spears, Dr. Hee, and Nomad" albums, and he told me, "We forgot how to play those tunes." What? LOL.
