could you please do a video making a spandex bat cowl? I would love to see how you attach/make the ears. I do a batman cosplay and I do the comic style. Would love to make a Cloth/Spandex bat cowl just have no idea how to make and attach the ears
@ScottBayles8 жыл бұрын
I haven't tried that yet, but my first thought would be to either do ears like the 1966 Batman where they come up from the side, or chat them out of foam and cover them with spandex.
@donutguy38543 жыл бұрын
I found a vid with a guy doing something like this but with fabric and nothing else, you could change that fabric to spandex and do something like he does here. I was thinking of doing the same thing since its more simple to make to fit on your head then rubber.

Thank you for another great costuming video, Scott. I'm actually using the same undershell idea for a latex Batman cowl to breathe new life into it. However, the spandex cowl idea might work for an TaS/comic-accurate cape and cowl...
@ScottBayles8 жыл бұрын
That's cool. I'd love to see how you use the undershell under a latex cow.
@JBaker-eg1ot8 жыл бұрын
It's the same methodology: using the ridges and lines of the undershell to shape the face of the latex mask. I haven't glued it in place yet, though, because I'm a little weary. I don't want to ruin the cowl.

Do you have any tips for the v2 cowl template? I’m having trouble with it
@RainMakeR_Workshop8 жыл бұрын
I have a suggestion for a vid. Use this technique to make a pleather Batman cowl. Not sure the best way to do the ears but I think an actual pleather cowl to go with the pleather boots, pants gloves and cape would look much more uniform than the plastidip covered latex one. Plus you'd not need the silly looking head sock and the cowl would look more like the comics when you slide it up to reveal your face.
@ScottBayles8 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea. If I can figure out a way to make the ears look good, I'll do that.

@ScottBayles8 жыл бұрын
Yes. My 10 year old also has a big head and he wears the same size cowl as me. All I do is tighten up the neck a little. But when you print the pattern in Acrobat Reader, you have the option to change the print size. You might try printing it at 90% or 85%.
