Just found this video through another cosplayer. Wow, this is a great and simple way to make a muscle suit without breaking the bank! To all the people complaining about sewing, it really isn't that difficult. I've only been sewing for 3 years and I began by buying a machine and practicing when I had spare time. Anyway, thanks for the tutorial and the template! I'll be using this for a few cosplays I have planned out for next year. God bless!

So what I'm thinking is taking a compression shirt, and gluing the padding to the compression shirt carefully, then wearing it underneath my Lyrica batman sub dye suit. Same with compression pants. Would the muscle be able to be seen? It's still the same concept of two spandex layers but I figured I'd ask your opinion. Will the denser foam give stronger bigger muscles as well? Great video it'll really give the edge to my batsuit.

Yes, you could do it that way, but it won't be machine washable and it won't be as durable. The denser foam with look like firmer muscles.

Thanks a bunch for this tutorial! I managed to make a suit to be able to (as a woman...) play the very manly Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. I turned it into a body though (with buttoned crotch) to be able to use the bathroom without having to completely undress. I also noticed that I am apparently too small for the muscles on the template. Shoulder muscles + upper arm muscles did not fit; they came past my elbow. So I had to tweak them a bit. For what length person are these? They seem to fit you fine.
@kalenhouse8 жыл бұрын
have you ever considered gluing the foam to the white fabric first. then sewing the flesh tone fabric over the white. it might save some time and you'd get same results.
@ScottBayles8 жыл бұрын
The only problem with gluing it is that the muscles won't be removable. Which also means, the bodysuit won't be machine washable. The glue won't breath either, so it would get hotter.
