'80s Hits as Ragtime Mashup (2021 Edition ft. Sunny Holiday)

Over the weekend, Sunny Holiday and myself participated in the #SaveBirdland benefit concert to help raise funds for the historic NYC jazz club, Birdland -- a venue that hosted one of my first performances of my "Classic '80s Hits for Ragtime Piano" medley, about 12 year ago. Here's our performance of a slightly modified version of this medley, now with 100% more crying in Spanish.

Reminds me of the time my voice teacher had me sing “Someone to Watch Over Me” as a calypso song. It can really free up your head and let you see a piece with fresh eyes and figure out what’s really important to the song.
