Ok but out of pure observation: Scott’a music has enhanced the Alan Becker experience. I swear ever since Pigstep, the atmosphere of each episode has done nothing but improved - both the improvement in each score and the effect on the episode. So give it up for this guy 👏👏👏🎉🎉

@bungercolumbus Жыл бұрын
I think the music captures math's essence really good. It feels like a song you would hear in a space movie and it makes perfect sense since math is the study of space, quality, structure and tons of other things. Along with that math is something you see everywhere in the universe. Props to you dude, this song made the animation 10 times better.
@octhevossavelios Жыл бұрын
Exactly what I thought!
@apelsin9094 Жыл бұрын
I would explain it another way: the music tries to describe the way of learning maths, trying to explain something you didn't explain to yourself yet. How do you learn maths? You start out simple: addition. 2 is equal to 1+1, 1+1=2. You then use this newly learned knowledge to find more functions, more properties, which become even more tools for the learning process. You use tools to create tools, which are used to make even more tools, and the cycle continues, and this is exactly the thing that I feel while listening to this. Scott Buckley didn't just try to make a space-like song, he tried to explain maths through sound (sound is also maths by the way, as a sound is a wave), and I'd say he did a perfect job at that.

@TudorDaian Жыл бұрын
It may sound unknown because we haven't and never will get every result possible in mathematics. Many things have been a mystery since the start of time. Mathematics only expands, and does not limit anyone to a strict solution. Every mathematical problem has an infinite amount of solution. An example is the Proof of the Pythagorean theorem. You may've heard a couple of months ago a new solution proposed by two students. As for the unsettlement, it is like this because maybe of the action happening and we can associate this to what we know many students find hard - mathematics. Also, nice finishing explanation :).

Honestly, makes sense. We are experiencing this from the perspective a small stickfigure, who probably barely knows their own power. Math is a gigantic concept, but TSC will never find out how each and every topic aligns and how every number falls into perfect order. Even though he is kind of a number himself (FPS) all of this is just so gigantic, it seems so vigorously terrifying… and yet he leaves by getting sent to the 127,102,292,281 dimension.

Your soundtrack is one of the best parts of Alan Becker's animation! It just creates a perfect atmosphere for each episode! For instance, "Parkour" was a silent episode until the music kicked in and you immediately knew "something is not right" or how the remixed Pigstep created an awesome boss battle atmosphere, or how the music in "The King" and "Note Block Universe" perfectly conveyed emotions (something specially difficult since the characters don't talk)! And in this episode the music created that perfect "math vibe" with everything following rules and slotting into place!

I just realized how perfectly crafted this 4 note melody is... At the beginning, the melody gives a sense of mystery, the unknown. But a good unknown, one to be explored. However, later (7:24 to be precise) when the unknown becomes dangerous, that same melody gives a sense of urgency, danger, uncertainty. Nice job Scott!

This is a brilliant piece of work Scott. The slow, steady buildup is perfect, and the repeated D# that pings over and over in the intro gives a rhythm for the listener without using drums, while also "trapping" the melody into certain keys (kinda' like how Orange is trapped in the math zone). The synths at 3:08 remind me of Tron, which is also a "character stuck in an abstract world" vibe. There's a lot more I could say: the flourishes give life to Orange's thoughts without words, there's a great transition to the finale... Kudos on this release! It is a massive driving force in the video and it fits so well.

I know you've seen this type of comment countless times, but that's not important. What's important, is that everyone wrote their message their own way. Anyway, I'm getting aside of my comment, let me restart : Your music is important for Alan Becker. It help his animations to get in a better mood than if there wasn't music. Which means, that your music is important for 100% of the viewers. Your pieces of music are a key item of Alan's mystery soup, and I hope you won't stop to do his music for at least a good while. But the problem is you need to calculate the speed, velocity, time. but if you dont the world ends. you gather the smartest people in the world to work on this problem. And after 3 days you and your team calculate it. but there is only 3 more hours until doom. One person, Someone has to go plant a device that would move it away. you chose to do it. You enter a ship called nasus 679, and is flown to the asteroid. you are set ontop of the asteroid but then there is rocks hitting you. As you are planting the devcie you start to enter earth’s atmosphere. You plant it and run to the ship. And you did it. You saved everyone. But you discover something. something big. There are more asteroids that arent empty. they contain…. Species. you try to tell your co workers and the world but they dont belive you. Since they dont believe you. you make your own space ship. you train for a month. then people see the asteroid with the species and regret not believing in you. you fly to collect the species but you then relize you cant. you go back to earth and enter a desert. you have 2 friends helping you and you only have 3 weeks. 100 likes for pt2!
