Thank you for making this video. Any 10 million dollar coach worth his salt is supposed to adjust his play calling to the strength of his offensive talent. Coach Riley has failed big time in this regard. He knew his right tackle was bad in pass pro. He had to know watching practice. Rather than helping him with a tight end on 3rd and long, he left him on an island to get beat every game. And coach Henson is to blame as well. Moreover, after watching LSU beat up Moss on blitzes, coach Riley had to know what was coming the rest of the season but chose to ignore it. Lastly, coach Riley has not consistently run the ball throughout entire games, leaving it up to Moss and our offensive line to win games. We’ve all seen the results of this decision. Moss didn’t play badly. The head coach did not put him in the best position to succeed. Period. This is a lifelong USC fan and I approve this message.

I respectfully disagree with 1 thing....the OL isn't horrible....their just built to run the ball (they have 2 running back avg over 5.5 yards per carry) and play action pass....dropping back 50 times per game is stupid...Defensive linemen are always better athletes then offensive linemen so why put them in that kind of a venerable position.
@mark9513 күн бұрын

Here’s the short version as to why Miller Moss was ruined. Our offensive line is trash and he got hit so many times that he started hearing footsteps. So he started throwing the ball way earlier than he needed to and he was inaccurate with those throws with bad form since he was just trying to get rid of the ball as fast as he could

It’s really sad to see a shell shocked QB that had the upside!
@Anaerobic0710 сағат бұрын
Exactly. We needed to keep the screen game up, lean more on a run-heavy game script, and throw in a handful of designed rollouts. With this line, you can't ask him to drop straight back and sit in the pocket every other play. Makes it too easy on the opposing defense.
@reubenblanco30218 сағат бұрын
Exactly also Caleb dint take as many hits as Moss did with a shittier OL , Riley’s system works better with an athletic QB .

It’s fascinating to see often and well he read in high school !! Very close to throwing 4 interceptions vs Louisville-he had a good deal for luck that game-his arm was never very strong, but he can’t wont run and Riley wont ca for him to run. It’s amazing he was able to do what he did accomplish, with such liabilities at tackle ad pass pro, number of sacks he endured, and rileys utter failure to adjust and emphasize the run game. It’s really really hard to succeed as a college QB when opponents know you want run, ends can crash down every play, and play cover tw fr 60 min.
@Rockyinlp3 күн бұрын
Riley's offenses have never had a stationary QB. It has always thrived with a mobile QB. Mayfield, Murray, Hurts. All mobile QBs, and defenses can't just load up and fire away if you have a legit mobile QB. All of a sudden all those read plays open up instead of getting blown up. Maiava will help open the run game and it will get better. Plus he has 3 years of eligibility. It is not Moss's fault, the offense was not designed to fit his strengths.

There are quite a few quarterbacks like Moss every season in college football. They are ranked in the 10 to 25 range for quarterbacks in their high school class. They have the talent to be good college quarterbacks but not elite college quarterbacks, yet despite that, they decide to go to elite college football programs where they struggle to get playing time. Schools like USC, Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, etc. are always going to bring in top-tier quarterback talents to their program and second-tier talents like Moss will always struggle to get playing time there. Moss would have been better off going to a second-tier program where he would have been the top-rated quarterback in the program and would have been given an opportunity to win the starting job early on.

The coaching is showing weakness because the NCAA Committee on Infractions specifically required that certain coaches and analysts NOT coach for a number of weeks this season. USC was hobbled by this requirement from NCAA COI and did not go public with the probation until the week of USC's Homecoming game against Nebraska. When you look at the three signatures on the report, the people are associated with a Committee Vice-Chair who is from Univ. of Oklahoma (where he was lead legal counsel and former employer of Lincoln Riley), a chair of the investigation who is from Univ of Indiana, and a committee member who is from Ohio State with three degrees. Another committee member is from Nebraska. The entire probation report reads like a group of B1G insiders who needed to impair and hobble the USC program as they entered the B1G. What was the accusation that triggered "Probation" from a "repeat offender"? It was that in the 2022-2023 season, some students requested the special teams analyst to review film and provide feedback on how special teams positions are played. The report shows that USC staff "provided feedback" and instruction to the students who requested the assistance. Moreover, the report states that the analysts did coaching by helping to carry equipment, review film from the spring practice (note - not even game film), and provided instruction on special teams play. This report shows that Lincoln Riley has been handcuffed by the NCAA in these close B1G games where he was unable to go with special teams FG attempts in close yardage. The report does not specify which games and weeks that USC chose to remove special teams analyst/coach staff from the sideline or game, but it's outrageous that NCAA COI and B1G would do this to USC while allowing student athletes to go without coaching and without transparency! This film, in my opinion, is absent this critical analysis and totally focuses UNFAIRLY on Miller Moss, who is clearly a great QB. The 4-5 season going into Homecoming weekend is due to the NCAA penalties and probation against USC for unjustifiable reasons. It should be noted that USC's penalties are related to rules that DO NOT even exist at the time of penalties being exacted from USC. Moreover, the NCAA changed the rules during the investigation period but the committee apparently chose to continue the hypocritical position that the NCAA should limit teaching of Div 1 student athletes by a major university. I find this report to be one of the most ridiculous reports in collegiate athletics and would have resigned from COI instead of putting my name on this rigged probation report.

Miller was never as good as people hyped him after the bowl game, and if he had just an adequate RT and an a average OC calling a balanced game, he had some f the est stats in big ten. That said, given our OLine, our coaches reluctance to call runs, and the hits concussions miller took thsi season, we have to change to maiva-we havee t keep defenses honest and we have to run the ball more and esp have a REAL qb opinion. Mia a was hardy greta yesterday but we won, primarily because he can and did run -we would have lost with miller starting.

I want to make it clear I am a Miller Moss fan. No one seems to mention that this USC team has lost 5 games by a total of 19 points and four of those were road games. Hey I get it a loss is a loss and with this team there are plenty of reasons they are 4&5. Starting with LR and ending with Bear Alexander with Miller and the O line somewhere in the middle of this mess. If the team is 7&2 then Miller is still QB1, but with 7 badly timed interceptions over the last three games it would be hard for any coach not to give Maiva a shot if he's ready. When JuJu flips and Texas A&M sweetens Longstreets NIL package to keep him LR and the staff need to determine whether or not Maiva is a future star or if they should be QB Portal shopping. FIGHT ON TRUE USC FAND ✌✌✌✌✌.
