One year I made a British fruit cake for Christmas, and it was expensive to make here in the States, plus I had to go into a liquor store (for brandy) which is no fun for a non-drinking woman either. It turned out great, but this year I just didn't want the work that goes into getting the ingredients here. And then I saw you. Part of the great thing growing up in the UK is the fruit cakes and the Dundee cake. Now I'm off for the pretty easy to get ingredients here and having fruit cake for Christmas. Thank you Giorgia. My relatives here love the trifle too. And getting the custard is a hassle. Thank goodness for my school home economics class and learning to do custard from scratch, but I miss Bird's Eye packets of custard mix. Other than that, the US is okay. I miss the mince pies too, but no more of my whining.

Thank you so much dear 🙏🥰!! Most commonly used egg substitute for baking are mashed banana, applesauce, silken tofu, ground flax seed mixed with water,yogurt,buttermilk and sweetened condensed milk.
