Thank you for your great suggestion! 😊 Clootie Dumpling is a true Scottish classic, and I’d love to taste an authentic version. I’ll have to make sure to try it next time I explore Scotland. Do you have a favorite place that serves the best Clootie Dumpling in Edinburgh? @johndownie7030

@ I must admit I don’t I have tried a few different places in Scotland but they all seem to use different ingredients and different methods from my own The recipe and method I use has been passed down from my great grandmother to her daughter (my gran) to my mother and now I use it but because I am the last person on this side of the family that is interested in cooking I think it might die off with me BTW some places have Clootie as part of their full Scottish breakfast and some also have Scottish Fruit pudding is another option Unopened it looks like a black pudding that they have forgotten about the blood. Uncooked it is grey with spots of raisins or sultanas but cooked it it is a light golden brown (often dry fried (or a squirt of spray of oil to stop it sticking)

I really appreciate your thoughtful comment! 😊 It’s incredible to have a recipe passed down through generations, and I hope you continue to enjoy and share it. @johndownie7030
