The handwritten recipe...what beautiful script! I don't know how some people do it. It's a work of art! Thank you for sharing that recipe with us. YUM! ❤

I miss Irn Bru. I managed to get some recently but they have reduced the sugar and added sweetener and it's not the same at all.

Haha I keep buying condensed milk to make tablet but I always end up supping it out of the tin and I haven't made it for years but what a great idea whisking it with the electric mixer. Your mum is amazing for 89, she'll probably be 90 now.... what a wonderful lady ❤️ xx

I remember the rum and raisin when I was wee. Now I live in the US and will be making some tomorrow. The hubby has insisted I make some for Christmas. Sometimes I add peppermint instead of vanilla and it tastes wonderful. I have had friends ask if I could add some jalapeños to tablet like they do to toffee in Arizona. We shall see. Thanks for this video. It was lovely to watch and listen to you lovely ladies.

Once you make it you tend to keep on eating! Yes - has to be once in a while!

Elisabeth, thank you so much for this video. Perfect timing, I’ve wanted to try this for a while. I’ve been to Scotland 13 times and it’s still my husband’s and my favourite country to visit. Most Canadians go to Florida, when we have no plans we go to Scotland. We’re in Canada, close to Niagara Falls and love to travel although whiskey distilleries are high on our list of places to visit. I’ve made your clootie dumpling many times as it was my mother in laws recipe and a family favourite.

Hi elizabeth, hoping to make this tablet recipe for a friend. Can I just check how much milk, butter and sugar you use in this recipe? Having trouble reading the written recipe and it seems to say water instead of milk in the written recipe? All the best Xx

1/2lb butter. 1/2 cup of water - I suspect that the milk used instead as it's available now, during the war milk was scarce. 1 tin of condensed milk. 2lb of sugar. I hope this helps.

Elizabeth would you be able to do more videos of you and your mum cooking from your grans recipe booklet? To my knowledge there hasn’t been recipe channel with Scottish recipes
