That was hard to take. Dons were brilliant, to a man. Very proud and I was emotional at Hampden when we scored our 3rd. Pens are pens. Some bizarre ref decisions, which others have commented on. All that said, in all my years, that’s one of the best football matches I’ve ever watched in the flesh. Pleasure to be there, despite not getting the result. Fair play to Celtic, they won and they were in a battle to achieve that. It shouldn’t be a contest when the Dons play Celtic and it rarely is. Today was different and I’m a proud aberdonian..

Such a tough one to take for us, we went toe to toe with them, and it was a performance to be proud of. There were always going to be periods of the game where we’d have to ride the storm, so to speak, but we did and bounced back brilliantly. Everyone gave everything out there and they should all be proud. This is the standard of performances we can produce, but just haven’t been. For the neutral watching the game, it was a great 2-3hrs of entertainment, but for us sets of fans, it was nerve-shredding. We gave our all but unfortunately the penalty shootout is a lottery. Some decisions didn’t go our way - the stonewall pen against CCV that wasn’t given is just disgraceful. If that’s a foul on Johnston, then football is totally lost and turned into basketball. Poor officiating once again, however, it’s unfortunately the norm now and not surprising. Congratulations to Celtic, probably need to get that defence sorted out cause it’s shambolic at the best of times. SF 🔴⚪️

Scales got the blame for both the back post goals but you have to question what Taylor’s role is with runners coming in behind the central pairing because he’s left both runners at the back post get a free run at it without getting near them leaving Scales to back pedal in the hope of getting a head to the cross. CCV is protecting the front post cross and Scales is protecting the central area but the LB is nowhere to be seen. We definitely need to get more height at Left Back perhaps we should look at being in Nawrocki and moving Sclaes to the LB or at least a LCB role in a 3 man defence because teams will now look to double up centrally and target that back post cross now after watching this. Fair play to the Aberdeen coach for the change intactics though.

The ball struck Scales’ arm in a natural position and not foul/ penalty but based on the bizarre handball decision given against Celtic in the Hearts game recently where the rule book went out the window can we say whether just striking the arm under any circumstances is a penalty now. Refs have been inconsistent on this. But Scales’ arm was not in the penalty box so either way not a penalty and by the rules not a foul.

Just glad to win it. The decision not to award the pen against Vickers is a poor decision, never a foul in the lead up to it. These officials have to start coming out after games and explaining these decisions, we have been on the end of some poor ones this season just like all the other teams. The refs in Scotland seem to be making it up on a game to game basis, they have been giving penalties that are not being given in other leagues and Euro games.

The one commentator was very biased against Celtic the whole game , it was sickening to listen to his whinging , he should just comment on what’s happening on the pitch without expressing his biased opinions . Aberdeen showed what they’re capable of against Celtic , why can they not do that in every game , many of them are not good value for the wages being spent on them if they only raise their game when it’s convenient, every game should be considered a cup final, that’s what champions do .

In Scotland, literally Celtic and Rangers are the only ones winning it since the 1980s. The last champion not named Celtic or Rangers was Aberdeen all the way back in 1985, damn near 40 years ago. It doesn't get anymore Farmers then that. There is literally no competition in the SPFL. Celtic and Rangers should just play 1 game to determine the champion.
