@ScottishTeeVee me and my wife took 2 weeks holiday from our bar in Lagos, Portugal and visited Majorca last month. While we were there we caught-up with Derek Holt (bass player of CBB) and got to one of his gigs in Pollenca, where he lives now. He is still gigging regularly with his band of friends, and doesn't look very much different except the beard has gone and his hair is now "a whiter shade of pale" 😀

@@thestarmusic Rick and Rozy! Good to hear from you two and nice to see that you two got a break from the Star Bar. I never realised that Derek was in Spain, I take it he lives on Palma? If I had known, I'd have visited, but we always end up going to Ibiza, the quiet bits not the busy bits😉 Anyway, I hope you have a good busy summer season this year, thanks again for watching and commenting. 🎸

Seeing this reminds me of how our children are missing out from hearing these groups from our youth, sadly they'll be forgotten and they do not deserve being lost in time, thank you for this, this band was one of my favourites when I was young!!

Do you realize that your children look at you and see the same? They know you'll never appreciate the wonder of the modern music they listen to. It's called the nostalgia bump. Everyone favors music they listened to until their mid 20s or so. We mistake that for being better music, not just our preferred music.

Saw this great band 24 times between 1970 and 1973. For those who remember the fantastic shows at the Cook's Ferry Inn, Edmonton, North London. When the bands drank at the same bar as the fans. Great memories. John Cufley was a new drummer to the band during this period and they had lost the original keyboard player with Derek Holt playing bass and occasional keyboards and Colin Cooper started playing rhythm guitar. The Cooks Ferry has since been demolished.

Saw CBB open for Lynyrd Skynyrd 9 months later in Milwaukee. They played ,"Couldn't Get It Right" and a couple of other new songs , but basically the same set. I remember during "Pork Pie Hat", Peter had a black strat with a mirrored strike plate. They would strobe lights on it and it was an awesome light show.

I may have that very Fender Rhodes piano right here with me. It has "CLIMAX" written on the lid, which someone has tried to scrub off though failed. It's an early 1975 Fender Rhodes mk1, and am assuming it was taken over to Germany for this - unless the gear was hired?! Ideas on this would be appreciated! It's great to see this footage. This band are great!!! 🤩

@@ScottishTeeVee Thanks for your reply! Superb camera work, gear and footage!!! Great work!! Were you with them during their tours (UK to wherever they went) and would you happen to know if their gear was hired in or taken from home? You may remember the rhodes suitcase and other kit with "CLIMAX" written on? Any other footage or pictures of their gear and setup would be really useful to give more of a clue on the rhodes' adventures! If you know of anyone that may have something, it would be very useful. I really appreciate your help, and thank you so much!

The copyright owners are allowing ads to be placed there. Most people will just go for ads at the start and end, but Google advises adverts be placed during any video longer than 8mins, the copyright holder can place them anywhere in the video themselves or allow google to insert them automatically. I have no control over the placing of the ads, since I am not the copyright holder. Usually at in the run up to Christmas there are more ads available so they appear in the middle of many of my videos, they are very annoying.

@@ScottishTeeVee I guess it would be annoying in anything but it makes music, particularly prog rock, kind of unlistenable.
