We recommend between 1-2 drops per minute, which is a very small amount of oil. When spread across the entire chain it becomes a molecule thick layer which protects all the parts. When setup correctly and at a suitable flow rate it shouldn't leave oil on the street. The Scottoiler is a total loss system however so it all goes somewhere and we usually find that the excess disappears as a fine mist when the sprockets are rotating quickly which helps in keeping the chain clean.

does it affect the bike vacuum system?
@ScottoilerHQ9 жыл бұрын
+Ahmad Mohd Kamal Aizat Hi Ahmad! No the Scottoiler vSystem does not affect the bikes vacuum system. Only a very small amount of air moves back and forth to open or close the valve. The engine side of the system is closed by a diaphragm so no air can be drawn in. Alternative we do also offer an electronic system that only connects to the battery.

+Tim Jones Hi Tim! We sell specially developed Scottoil; with our oil we know the viscosity and the chemical makeup of the oil so this is the only oil we can recommend. Maybe your oil was too thick? Have you primed the system after filling it? The system will not work unless its primed. You can find all information on our oils and priming/setting up your system on our website www.scottoiler.com

If you need this system as opposed to getting you hands dirty and doing the work yourself, turn in your man card now!
@ScottoilerHQ8 жыл бұрын
haha... that's a bit of a silly comment. You also want to hand in your man card for your electric starter? We also had to mix oil and gas by hand not so long ago. Heck, even chains have undergone massive technical advances. Before the introduction of O-rings you had to take your chain off and manually boil it in duck grease and then hang it up to dry for a few hours. Innovation is there to make your life easier and allow you to spend more time doing the things you love!
