Hollywood Forever Cemetery is a full-service cemetery, funeral home, crematory, and cultural events center which regularly hosts community events such as live music and summer movie screenings. It is one of the oldest cemeteries in Los Angeles, California and is located at 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles. It was founded in 1899 as Hollywood Cemetery, and, from 1939, was known as Hollywood Memorial Park until 1998 when it was given its current name. The studios of Paramount Pictures are located at the south end of the same block, on 40 acres (16 ha) that were once part of the cemetery which held no interments.
Notable individuals interred or inurned at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, California, include Judy Garland, Chris Cornell, Mark Lanegan, Anton Yelchin, Burt Reynolds, and Valerie Harper.

The Swayze mausoleum you mention in the video is my great aunt and uncles. They were big in the financial world in Iowa then moved to Los Angels and managed a bunch of banks there. I am happy you mentioned their mausoleum in the video.

Hattie McDaniel is laid to rest in Angelus Rosedale Cemetery. When the Cassidy brothers took over the cemetery, they offered her family to reinter her there ( where she wanted to be laid to rest) but her family declined. Johnny Ramone’s cremains are with his wife. When she passes on they will both be interred in that plot. I love your channel Scott. This was an excellent video. So many interesting people. I’m going to start planning a trip.

I know it's impossible to cover each grave, but I am so happy you visited Rudolph Valentino.♥️ I've been a fan of his since I discovered him in a text book in college. It's almost been 100 years since he tragically died, he had no burial plans so a friend of his donated the spot, but then she died a year later(?) and is interned next to Valentino.

Edmon Simonian was a master custom furniture maker in Hollywood. There are not many craftsmen like this anymore. Furniture looks all the same now (thanks IKEA! 🤨) and most of it is not even real wood. A friend of mine (who is a social worker 😅) buys wood and makes her own furniture, because she doesn’t want to spent money on the…crap that is sold as furniture now. And the real quality wood furniture is as expensive as a new home - or a grave at this exclusive venue probably 😂 Thanks for the ride Scott! 🙏

Edmon Simonian set up a furniture making shop in a small Hollywood apartment he shared with his wife and daughter. He opened his own store on Melrose Avenue in 1978 with his saved money and often had to build furniture on the sidewalk because he did not have enough room inside. Today, that venture has grown into a block long storefront for two companion firms, Edmon's Unique Furniture and Edmon's Stone Gallery...

Thanks Scott and your sweet friend for sharing this very well done video. I’m glad the cats are still ok because the coyotes tend to be around sometimes like in Forest Lawn Hollywood in Burbank and Griffith Park. The ducks, swan and peacocks were also a beautiful touch to the scenery. Some of the gravesites can use a little manicure so the name plates don’t disappear. Never knew Toto’s name was Terry. For some reason as a child I loved Toto more than Lassie. May all their memories continue living on. 🙏🏻🌹⭐️❤️

@@shelleylindquist9452 Apologies if you're joking, I realise you probably are. Peacocks are male peafowl, females are peahens. So they've always been peafowl, but people tend to talk about peacocks, because of their stunning plumage, & assume that's the name of the species. The propensity some people have to be outraged, offended, shocked etc. may have been a factor in changing signage. 🙂

I was there in 2016, a couple of years before Judy garland was interned there from New York. Such a beautiful peaceful place.

I visited what was then Hollywood Park in 1985 while I was on vacation . I knew that a lot of the old Hollywood stars were buried there however I had no map or direction so I could not find Rudolph Valentino or Tyrone Power. I did stumble across the grave of Jesse L. Lasky who I believe was head of Famous Players Lasky in which he co-founded Paramount Studios. Scott I agree with everyone who has chimed in. You do a terrific job and handle it with great respect for all the dearly departed. Keep doing what you're doing as it is appreciated by all your fans of which I am definitely one. Thank You!

Edmon Simonian was a furniture maker in LA His apartment was small so he made furniture on the sidewalk. I guess his store takes up a block in LA. AMAZING
