There's a common misconception where people think that just because they can play the guitar, they can also teach it. That's made it really hard for me and many others to learn, but Scott is such a great teacher and it helps so much.

I learned more from watching three of your videos than I have in my eight months of playing guitar and failing go get into theory. To be fair, I wasn’t very motivated before, but you also just make it so, so easy to understand. There’s something very nice about learning theory that you can immediately apply and try for yourself. @@philjames1019 I can attest to how amazing the patreon page is. Most one hour lessons cost about $40 from an instructor. Here you get hundreds of hours of content and a community page for 1/4 of that price per month. For those who can set aside two coffee's a month, I highly recommend

Glad you are back. You are by far my favorite guitar teacher on YT. You teach like a teacher and not a guitar player showing you what they know. You convey the "why" better than anyone on YT teaching guitar. You aren't just giving tips or exercises, but a direction in which I can pour my effort into knowing that it will pay off. This is exactly what I was working on since yesterday, I found the print outs which was printed out long time ago and forgotten all about it since I wasn’t interested in learning in depth 😄 Whatever little I learnt made me learn all the more, so this lesson is supporting it, so thanks a heaps! I want you to know- for hours on end i have been watching theory videos trying to grasp how theory works on the guitar (most are for piano). I never could figure out how to make chords or understand the makeup of the ones ive been using. Thank you so much for this video- it has actually helped saved me. Indeed one of the best teachers there is. If you explain something then I understand it. Even with the marked dots on the neck of your guitar and the "digital paper" with all the notes where you mark them, that's just fabulous.

you totally nail the best ways to explain chord structure and theory.im 55 and i didnt have videos when i was in early teens and had to experiment.You make it and have given me easier ways to explain to like my sister who is 65 and now learning banjo,yeah cool huh.but i talk to much and confuses her because i dont play banjo but all theory as you know is relative.So just a big thank you my friend for being patient and just awesome!!! mean it.

I've watched a LOT of guitar instruction videos and I can say that Scott's are easily the best I've ever come across. He's knowledgeable, the pacing of the lessons is spot-on and the three-pane setup with the one camera fixed to the fretboard is excellent. The set-up, the subjects he tackles, the production values and his delivery are all great. On top of that he's really personable; he makes me want to be his friend and invite him over for jam night. Keep at it, Scott; you're really onto a winning formula here. Yours is the first channel I've ever been compelled to subscribe to or comment on.
