It’s so weird looking back on this game as an actual game. This might be one of my most played games of all time, but it was always just me and my sister playing around with the characters. We treated it like a literal toy box, and I think that’s where the game truly shined.

The online mode was really underrated, you could play tons of worlds made by other people, and Disney would hold events where they highlighted the best worlds. It's a shame the online mode no longer works, even in the PC versions

@@chunkiese I looked it up, and only online multiplayer with friends still works for both 1.0 and 2.0 (online multiplayer for those games used P2P, while the other online functions, such as online Toy Box sharing, used Disney's servers which have since been shut down). 3.0's online multiplayer doesn't work anymore because it required authentication with Disney's servers

I actually talked to the designer for those figures last year and he told me that Goofy was considered for 3.0 expansions but due to the cancellation of Disney Infinity, it didn’t happen. Disney Infinity was definitely such a unique gaming experience, especially collecting these figures and I still own them to this day.

Love infinity to this day just wish that 3.0 finished what was talked about. Peter Pan , Moana Maui I think if the battle stage was open to all figures except just the avengers. Would of sold better like smash brothers. Did you know that 2.0 is still online. Multiplayer To this day while3.0 can only play on ps4 and 5. Via shareplay. Coop. Played 2.0 today with friends

I still think the best "toys to life" idea was LEGO Dimensions (considering the actual figures and builds were usable outside of the game), but Disney Infinity was crazy at its peak, and I wish I had been able to play it when it was popular

​@@MiloMurphysLaw You're laking a lot of confidence when Aperture Desk Job (which specifies that it's not portal 3) was released fairly recently, and Portal 1&2 on Switch as well. We'll probably see a Portal 3 released within the next 10-20 years, and Lego games have started becoming really massive (Skywalker Saga), so a Dimensions-type crossover game is a pretty big possibility too. First it's rumoured that they'll release a Marvel game though, with movies up to Endgame being featured.

3.0 was a beauty and i still play the toybox today. Once you build your world and get used to building in the toy box it can be literaly any game you can think of. Ive recreated multiple battlefront 2 maps to making captain america goes to iraq for oil. Pretty much anything is possible and can always return wit a new way to play.

Fun fact: these games do still exist, but only on PC. Each game ended up getting Gold Editions, which had every character, play set, and level that released, as well as some that never made it in their full releases. If you haven’t already, I recommend giving these games a look.

Disney Infinity 3.0 was basically what the game should’ve been from the beginning. Then they could’ve just continued to release a whole bunch more characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, etc. And then made a sequel with a game mode where you can actually have characters from different franchises interact, since it is supposed to be a *crossover* game. Then after they bought Fox, they could’ve released a whole new batch of characters for the 2nd game

It was closer to what the game should've been but I still think that they wouldn't have got it right until 4.0. They still didn't allow you to bring characters from other series in to the playsets. You should be able to play Star Wars levels as Buzz Lightyear or Pirates of the Caribbean as Rapunzel

My favorite thing is when you had a parent who liked to clean your room for you occasionally and out all your infinity stuff into one box and then you couldn’t figure out which one worked out which base went with 2.0 and 3.0 and then you drive yourself nuts trying to seperate them for the rest of your life.

Disney Infinity might not have lived up to the hype, but I gotta say. The figures were very well made, in my opinion. Definitely more so in 2.0 and 3.0, but there were still a few good ones in 1.0. I especially love some of the translucent ones, and the memory spheres on the Inside Out figures are so cool to look at given how the light interacts with those little spheres. I bought a huge box of them at a yard sale for like, $10, and they look great on my shelf. If you find a box full of them at a yard sale, I'd recommend picking them up. Even if you don't have any of the games.

As a kid, I remember spending probably dozens of hours running around the hub world of the 3.0 game. Even if there wasn’t anything to really do, I would race around in one of the stupid cars or parkour around the ewok village. I distinctly remember fighting an AT-ST (or whatever the walker thing was). I had every star wars character outside of rebels (and still do in some box in storage), and I have many fond memories of exploring the online worlds, extra playsets, and building stuff in the toy box. It might not have been the greatest game from a sheer gameplay perspective, but it’ll always have a precious place in my heart.

Got into Video Games because of toys to life and still have a lot of my figures to this day. Won’t ever forget opening a PS3 copy of Disney Infinity 2.0 on Christmas Day 2014 only to go return it with my mom to Walmart the day after to get the game for my Xbox 360. Spent so many hours building things in the toy box and hope I have a reason to revisit the series and introduce it to someone someday

My sisters and I were very excited when the first game was coming out. We had a fun Christmas opening the game, I got Wreck-It Ralph and they got Elsa and Anna (who were a HUGE pain to find at a decent price back then. Disney underestimated how popular the Frozen figures would be and scalpers got a majority of them at launch). We played Disney Infinity for awhile and had lots of fun. Until we realized how lame it was that not every character had their own Play Set. And then when they announced Disney Infinity 2.0 the next year and the previous Play Sets didn't work on it, we were like "Eh, it was a fun game, but we're good for now." Which is a shame too, a Disney crossover game still has a ton of potential. If they'd kept the series going, we could've had Play Sets based off things like Moana, Encanto, Turning Red, the freakin' Simpsons! Would love to see Disney try this again someday.

I played Disney Infinity in middle school and a bit of high school. I found it quite neat. 2 biggest things that lead me to not play it much in the future: - access to figurines (they're really expensive and I didn't have money as a kid) - Disney Infinity 2.0/3.0. suddenly a huge update to the game that I couldn't play, and they stopped making figures and stuff for the old game, so I had to upgrade if I wanted new stuff It wasn't really the playsets I enjoyed the much though, it was the building mode. I liked trying to create games and worlds.

Disney Infinity 3.0 is my favorite Toys to Life game. Was able to collect all the character toys, and a good majority of the Power Discs. There were a lot of creators who put so much time into creating wonderful downloadable Toy Boxes for us to use, which increased the replayability of this game. The Toy Box was such a great feature in this game, very deep and complicated at times, but very rewarding when you get everything programmed correctly.

Something else that's worth mentioning is after the cancelation, Disney Infinity had one last system release on Dec. 9, 2016, which was the Steam exclusive "Gold Edition," which was essentially the exact same as the console releases, but without the excessive purchases of figures and discs, driving away from the toys-to-life scheme. Gold Edition included every released character, (minus quite a few in 3.0) power & character disc, along with all the play sets (Battlegrounds and Dory were left out) for a price of $30 per version, $9 during a Steam sale. This version also has an active modding community that've brought in not only all the unincluded figures, but also promised 4.0 characters and more. In short, Gold Edition is what I believe to be (minus being PC exclusive) the perfect rendition of Disney Infinity, and all it does differently is that it includes everything for a cheaper price

The worst thing about the 2.0 is that Marvel Comics are so cool because they're all in one interconnected universe. The Spider-Man and Avengers playsets were based off of the Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble TV shows. Two shows that crossed over all the time. In fact the Guardians of the Galaxy showed up in both series

I was on board with Disney Infinity all the way through, warts and all, because I love video games, I love toys, and I love the Disney properties present here. But yeah, it really wasn’t until 3.0 that the series finally saw its full potential. The play sets were really varied, the two games that everybody could play in, the kart racer and Toy Box Takeover, were great, and the mix of classic and new felt appropriate. We were finally getting there. I was in the midst of making my own storyline in the Toy Box, a Disney Secret Wars taking its inspiration from the 1984 Marvel comic but applying it to all of Disney before the servers went down. All I had managed to create from that story was a Symbiote invasion of a Hoth/Arrendelle fusion world.

Did anyone here ever play the 3.0 expansion Toybox Takeover? I was really surprised he didn’t mention in the video, it was my absolute favorite part of the game, similar to the raceway it was exactly what he was asking for, a huge connected toybox storyline where you could play like five levels, each based on a different movie, some Marvel, some Starwars, and ending with a big boss battle versus Syndrome from Incredibles, you could play as any character in the game in any level, it was the only story mode thing I ever finished in the game. I think the plot was something like all of the characters are hanging out in the toybox, and syndrome, steals merlin’s magic wand, and does the classic super villain take over, and then all the rest of the characters have to stop him.

The concept of a game being a platform for multiples of what would have been standalone licensed games to tie-in with new movies on the 6th and 7th generations is clearly felt today with games like Fortnite, Minecraft and Roblox as well Disney's own games like Mirrorverse and Dreamlight Valley.

Scott is the only person that keeps Toy Story 3 for the Xbox 360 in between Forza and Gears of War in his alphabatized collection. I mean I get it Toy Story 3 is a game that doesn't abide by the rules of man, not to mention needs to be surrounded by similar games that are staples of the industry as a whole.
