The guy at GameStop told me the Bowser remote didn't exist and I bought the Peach one instead, thinking I fell for an online hoax. I checked online and bam, Bowser remote for sale on Gamestop online. In Nintendo's defense in regard to the lack of extra details with the themed GameCube controllers, a lot of the controller's identity is tied into the colors of the buttons & C-Stick. Changing them would make for a weird looking controller, whereas the WiiMote was always more of a blank slate begging to be personalized.
