Awesome work, really cool that you kept a PS1 out of a landfill as well.

No Playstation emulation on a Playstation?
@jacobgordon94479 жыл бұрын
DarakuTenshi there is ps1 emulation
@GuardYourFlanks9 жыл бұрын
I was just referring to there being no PS1 emulation on this specific system built. As he went through the video I didn't see it anyway.
@jacobgordon94479 жыл бұрын
DarakuTenshi Well there is a Ps1 emulator for the rasberry pi but I dont know if this specific one has it on the SD card.
@colinbouwer1859 жыл бұрын
Playstation emulation? Idk if you mean like: PS3 hub in the ps1, but remember, copyright... you can't download any of the playstation hubs, (well, legally, idk if you can download illegal, but i think you can't ) so he downloaded a custom rom i think, from an older version that's not that official like playstation.

How can I make the GUI to look like in your video? It`s clean and nice, it shows the list of games to the right and information to the left, besides, choosing systems with each background is great. Because I have seen other video on YT with this emulation Station and it is dull, only the list on games to the center, nothing else.

The OS is a distro of Linux called Retro Pie that comes bundled with the program "Emulation Station." You can download the package from plenty of tutorials like this one: lifehacker.com/how-to-turn-your-raspberry-pi-into-a-retro-game-console-498561192 This is the newest version of Emulation Station to come out (V2.3), and it's much better looking. I've seen the less attrative GUI's that you are referring to, but I believe that those are just older videos. The newest version can be downloaded here: blog.petrockblock.com/retropie/retropie-downloads/

Sorry if it's stupidly simple, but how do you wire up the button to both turn on the pi and led? I'm thinking of doing this w/ a mega drive and was curious how you do it?

where did you get this nice looking photo? because i am also making a Pi-station (sorry for my bad english im am from Germany)
@ScottTechReviews9 жыл бұрын
If you are referring to the PiStation logo, I made it myself in Photoshop by using a PS1 font and recoloring a Raspberry Pi logo. If you'd like to download the picture, as well as read instructions on how I made my PiStation, you can click the link the description to view my Instructable with all this information. Best of luck on your project!

And how did you do this with the Powerbutton on 1:06 min ? Did you easily solder the wires from the Power Supply to the switch and then to the Pi or does my plan not work?

Is there a way to attach the RPi to the CD drive logic via GPIO to fake inserted disks? Like this one would have the genuine PSX hardware.
@altermann5559 жыл бұрын
Probably yes ... but i guess its a bit hard to write drivers for the cd drive .. i guess its Easier to open at standard usb hard drive and attach it into it .. just mention to it : S
