My dryer has been rattling my teeth every time my wife dries a load for weeks now and I was considering paying someone to come fix it. Hell, I even thought about buying a new dryer. But instead, I followed your instructions and now the neighbors can sleep while we do laundry. Thanks!

Thanks for the great video directions. I have to say this electrolux dryer has one of the worst dryer lint traps i have ever seen. Lint just completely goes around it rather than through. I am going to find and install some seal strips in the gaps to keep this from happening.

Yep, It’s the worst. I think they now make an updated filter kit to fix it😊

Ours started rumbling noticeably louder over the last 2 weeks. I removed the filter and filter housing and saw the inlet of the blower. Holy crap it was full of junk. I removed a ball of lint about the size of a tennis ball using a long skinny Dryer Lint Vent Trap Cleaner Brush. I rotated the drum a few degrees at a time and used a stiff wire to break a few big chunks loose and removed them. Not a complete cleaning, but it made a HUGE difference. I will make time to do a more complete cleaning and inspection within a week. Thanks for your video, as it set us on the path for a free and easy repair! (I'm sure a typical repair company would have charged us $200 plus a part that we don't need to replace!)

Thank you so much for this informative guide to cleaning out that part. I had used a vacuum attachment to clean out the lint collection area and just ended up pushing a good chunk of lint further into the dryer, thus making to rattle like crazy. This was easy to follow and saved me a service call. Many thanks!

Thanks so much for this info! My dryer has been making this rattling/rumbling noise on and off for a couple of years. If i pushed on the front door it would make it go away, if I raised the front slightly it would go away and if I stopped it and pushed in on the drum several times it would usually make it go away. I always thought it had something to do with the door, leveling or a drum roller. I've googled it before but never came up with this solution and I'll be damned it worked! Kind of a pain to get the front cover back on with those clips(broke one) but like I said it runs super quiet again, just like new. I just got the wife approval award today too.....Thanks again!

Did the same fix found half a dog inside the fan. I do think there is a way to vacuum the fan using a flexible hose might not completely clear it of all debris but if done as a maintenance cleaning it should keep it from building up. -I'm going to make one that can be slid through the bottom of the lint vent. You can turn the barrel to rotate the fan blade to clean it pretty thoroughly. - thanks this was helpful

THANKS! We had the same issue with our Electrolux dryer! Unfortunately our felt gasket on the lint trap fell apart so the lint gets around the sides. I have to find something that will work in its place. I definitely am NOT buying an 80$ lint trap for 5$ in felt.

@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I have been searching for a replacement felt bur have only found ones that are incredibly THICK for the drum itself! I can't tell you how nice it is to have a quiet dryer again. I had thought it was one of the support wheels that had a failed bearing or flat spot on the wheel since it was shaking the drum like crazy. I can't believe it was just lint that completely filled the blower. There was so much in there I'm shocked it even dried clothes still!

Will be disassembling mine to find the rumble, maybe lint, maybe rollers. Anyone with the old style lint filter (like the one in the video), should install the updated lint trap. Too much lint in the heating element could cause a fire.

The problem isn't with the lint buildup as much as it's the design of the blower itself. There is an updated part from Electrolux that replaces the current factory blower wheel. 5304513609. Trust me....I've been fixing this problem for 4 years. (I work for an appliance repair company)

Thanks so much Corey, Do you think they just engineer it with the vanes being too close together?
@coreygrimm83574 жыл бұрын
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel yes and no, yes they were too close together, but I think it was their shape more than anything. Its shaped more like a turbine fan meant to push backwards (into the housing which creates back pressure) instead of a squirrel cage (which pushes air sideways.
