Thank you my friend, I really appreciate it. It’s a work of art to me, and I definitely want to try a real Yumi at some point. For now this one will fit the bill nicely. I was surprised by how well it put the arrows to the target. I think once I get the proper form down it will perform even better. I really appreciate the comment and the support! Have a great evening. Best regards

Thank you my friend. I am really enjoying this bow. It is good to be back doing what I love. I have had a few questions about the thumb protector. Some have asked me if you are making these for the purpose of selling to others. I do not know how to respond. As always, I appreciate your time my friend. Have a great evening. Best regards

Good to see you back Scott. That's a really nice bow and, yet, sort of an odd creature to the western eye. I guess its asymmetrical design makes location of the knocking point really important. The sliding knock on your string in order to determine the best spot was a good idea. Thanks for the video.

Thank you my friend. It’s good to be back doing what I love. It is an odd sight to see but the way it shoots is amazing. The nock makes the difference on it for sure. I finally have it where I think it performs well. It’s been on my wish list of bows. I swear by moveable string nocks. It really helps. I appreciate your time my friend! Have a great evening. Best regards

good to see you again Scott! That is a very pretty bow. I'm full Asiatic these days too - I just enjoy the shooting experience more. I've been working on 2 fletch arrows based on your inspiration a few months ago and they are amazing. SO fast at 10 to 11 gpp. Just ordered a new Alibow long siyah which is also semi asymetric and I'm excited to get that in my hands asap.

I just gone mine too haha but I got the smaller one 59" 40 lbs. I'm now waiting on some Buffalo and Yak horn to make some beautiful thumb rings as I cant find any in the US making them.

Thats awesome that you make thumb rings. I’ve wanted to try a Manchu style ring but can’t seem to find a proper sizing chart or one that doesn’t break the bank. I might have to try my hand at making one. I appreciate your time my friend. Have a great evening. Best regards

That's a good idea, I was going to make a turkish ring and a mongolian (shallow hook). I'll add manchu to the list, if it goes well I can send a Yak one your way in your size.

I am asking Sarmat if they can make longer Yumi bows. Meanwhile PVC armory can make them on Etsy. Mine will be about 120 unfinished and with takedown ability. If only I could find the special glove on a budget also.

Thanks for the comment my friend. Not sure where to find the thumb protector. I think Mark had something in the works at the time he sent me one, but not sure where that went. Too much movement for hunting, but interesting shot sequence. Have shot arrows off the knuckle. Too much blood loss on the bow hand. I am trying to picture a 71 inch bow in a ground blind. Hehee. 35 pounds is a great weight for slinging arrows for extended period of time without getting overly tired and still have decently flat trajectory with medium weight arrows.

I've such a bow. My one is 25#@28". I shoot it @34". How many pounds can I expect ? 33# ? How to reduce the noise when the arrow hits the bow handle ? I use Edge Skylon spin 400. I ve increase lenght from 33" to 36 by gluying a piece of Edge. So I've 420 gr weight.
@ScottWinters
@ScottWinters 7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment my friend. The draw weight increases 1 to 2 lbs for every inch over 28 inches, so possibly close to 35 lbs of draw weight. Using khatra helps the arrow clear the grip arrow and helps with arrow correction in the shot cycle. Though you can’t eliminate all noise, it does help. Judging by what I have experienced the string hits the top limb when the bow goes back to relaxed state causing some of the noise you may be experiencing. Add a piece of Velcro to the top limb under the string and that will help. At 420 grain weight that’s a heavy arrow and it should be ok. I hope that helps . Have a great evening. Best regards

@@ScottWinters No , adding a piece of Velcro to the top limb under the string don't help to reduce the noise. I think it's the nock of the arrow who hit the bow handle. I think I don't have a good khatra, or I make khatra too late. I've a lot of things to learn, I'm just at the beginning of the adventure.
