Thanks Bill, building up V6 Vengeance was a hell of a ride. sometimes i wanted to burn the bloody thing but we got it there in the end. I'm hoping to push out a new Scotty's Garage every two weeks or so. We'll see if I can hold to that.

@evilmonkey1911 My experience with the pod filter showed that the supercharged six cold air intake worked much better and didn't attract the vcops when you opened the bonnet. Fitting the extractors at home is doable but i had to jack up the motor in the engine bay (and remove the ps engine mount) to slip them in. but remember my car also had the aircon and power steer removed which gave me more room. Much easier if you've got a access to a hoist

@ls1edit Bolts straight up, but if you have an auto V6 you need the auto V8 linkage on the throttle body for the kickdown cable (TV cable)

@Stacuracy182 My VN was serpentine; what I had to do was run an idler pulley to replace the power steering pump and a shorter belt to eliminate the air-con pump. Some VN commodores sold in NZ had the option of no air-con so there are factory serpentine belts available in the right length. Yes, it's also possible to manualise the VS even with the overdrive. Again my VN was 4-speed auto and I had the ratchet shifter hooked up to that.

Sweet cus i got the V6 Power handbook with the best of V6 vengeance off a mate and was impressed at the detail of each run and the mods undertaken. I am planning on putting a V6 into my Torrie and then SC or turbo it one day.

Grant, your falcon could have a 200ci or a 250ci six. In most cases it'll be a 250ci motor. Message me with the VIN or Engine number and I'll let you know what you've got. But generally, if you can remove the intake manifold you'll have the desirable 250 2V engine. Hope this helps.

@ls1edit Twin thermos? I wouldn't bother on the V6, the single one works well enough, but I did find if you disconnect it during a run the car will go faster. So an over-ride switch on the thermo fan isn't a bad idea.

Hi I have a vz commodore 3.6 having electric problems at the moment.I got to get the bcm reconditioned.The one screw holding it on the mounting keeps turning around and around.So I bought a rotory tool set.I am going to grind the head of the screw off.I need to replace 9 of the relays in the two fuse boxes If you no of how I can get them I would be happy.The relay is tyco V23134-K55-X406 92092444 12V IN 0513.I don't no if the performance tips for the 3.8 motor is the same as the 3.6 motor.I was happy to see video Thank-you.

Sorry mate, missed this while I was away at Summernats. A 65mm throttle body was worth around 1.5tenths down the quarter in my experience. If you've got a VR, make sure you also remove the plastic bellmouth from inside the back of the intake. It sits between the intake elbow and the manifold itself. That'll gain you an extra 1.5tenths. Sometimes you need to reset the ECU after this, let me know if it idles high and I'll tell you how. Good luck and thanks for watching.

@grantyclark Sorry dude, I must have missed this comment, KZbin doesn't always tell me about all of them. The VS motor is different to the VN-VR motor but you probably know that. There are manifolds you can buy for the VS that will help but I'd start with extractors and exhaust, SC6 CAI, and some gears (3.45 or higher) first. Then you can look at rockers, or a camshaft for more power. but the real upgrades are going to be headwork and/or a stroker kit.

Does the vx v6 2001 have a bellmouth in it to be removed, also am now looking at putting a cold air in take with growler, replace the throttle body to a 70ml and get some performance headers, that will be my start after checking this out, thanks, but yeah is there a bellmouth that needs removing on the vx v6 2001.thanks.

(continued) - the problem is the size of the ports and intake - they are huge compared to a std manifold which sounds good but it kills low end flow velocity - be good if turboed or whatever but a stockie responds well to a small turbo too - or, where you are, hit the junkyards and get a 302 or 351 or bigger - repower for very very cheap. I went 351 (bought a whole Fairlane) after I sold the car etc I actually made a profit on initial outlay, plus heaps of spares I scavenged...

Hi Scotty and Grant, firstly, splitting hairs, but if it came with a 6 it aint a GT...Anyway...my XB originally had a 250 2V and while they are extremely desireable its only cos of rarity.. true they are more powerful from say 3,500 rpm up but lower than that they are actually a bit more gutless than the std 6.. considering the rev range you'll normally be using thats like most of the time.. and to make things worse these motors don't like to rev so you're actually better off IMHO with std 6.

+ScottysGarage well its a 1993 holden executive and theres a few issues that i cant pinpoint in the ride quality, expecially at high speed, if my end goal is performance, (it is a commie and thats what they do best ahah) should i invest in a new suspension package? and what sort should i look at? also, with your mention to the air intake, is there any system or set up i should research wwith regards to cooling systems?...basically mate just wonderinh where the hell do i start ahaha, thanks
