Hi Scotty, you mentioned "burning oil". My 2015 Audi Q7 S-line burns approx. a quart of oil every six months. I get it serviced at the Audi dealership once a year. Every year I've owned it, I've needed to drop by half way through because the low oil light goes on and they need to top it off with a quart. One year, I needed to top it off twice after a couple trips to Yosemite. Otherwise, it's been a great car. Should I get rid of this Q7 sooner versus later?

I have a 2014 Fusion. 2.5. No turbo. With 166,000 miles. I guess I can expect well over 206,000 miles. Oil is changed with synthetic. When on the freeways here in jersey I set the cruise at 83. The weekend before Thanksgiving I was on my way to Tulsa Oklahoma. In Illinois on i70 doing 80 a Maserati went past me at 95. So I tucked in behind him at dropped the hammer even further. Roughly 95 for almost 100 miles. The Fusion never missed a lick

The Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis where Assembled in Canada, and the Lincoln Town Car was made in Wixom, Michigan until Ford decided to close the Wixom plant in 2007 and in 2008 the Lincoln Town Car ended up being Assembled in Canada it has the same engine built in Michigan but the final assembly took place in Canada. Just like the Town Car from Lincoln Ford Wixom built the Town Car with the engine and transmission made in the USA and then the send the parts to the St. Thomas facility in Ontario, Canada and assembled the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Mercury Marauder, then after the Wixom plant closed the remaining parts for the Lincoln Town Car where sent to the St.Thomas Facility for final assembly and the St.Thomas Facility closed in 2011 that is suppose to be closing the Flatrock plant to shift production of the Ford Mustang to Canada to produce a bunch of right hand drive Mustangs that is more suitable for Japanese quality standards and also to keep the 6 in production in North America but in Canada instead of USA and for the Fusion and MKZ from Lincoln in production, as Ford decided to close it and the Mazda 6 ended up being produced in Japan. If it where for Ford to have better relations with Mazda then Ford will end up closing the Flatrock plant and then Ford ends up producing all of the Ford Mustangs in St. Thomas, Ontario Canada where most of the Ford Mustangs will be exported to Japan because it met Japan’s quality standards, the reason why Ford close the facility and get out of Japan and if Ford will be selling their cars in Japan then all the Ford Mustang cars are going to be built in St.Thomas Ontario, Canada instead of Flatrock, Michigan.

Those Ford turbos typically cannot have just the wastegates replaced. You typically have to replace the whole unit. Unless you take it to a specialist that perhaps has a 3rd party method of rebuilding them with aftermarket parts.

Bought an AWD Fusion SE new back in 2015. Lasted eight years, but the tranny blew at 45K miles, even after caring for it and keeping up on the maintenance throughout. Nice looking cars, but the blown transmission experience soured me to Fords, likely for a VERY long time.

The ford fusion is more or less a mazda 6...The combo makes for a decent car. I had a 2008 fusion with 194k just regular maintenance up until 2020, after that i bought a fully loaded 2012 fusion black on black leather sel with the screen the heated and cooled seats and moon and tune package and i havent had an issue with it. When i bought it it had 42k miles on it now around 65k. I run fully synthetic and have replaced the brakes all around with brembo ceramic pads and vented discs. It has the sport 18 inch wheels wrapped in kumho ecstas, handles great. I love the car..I feel like the 2010-2012 looked the best.

What Scotty didn't mention is size of the engine - 2 liter turbo or 1.5 liter turbo. It looks like the bigger engine. In another video he featured the Fusion with the 1.5 liter turbo that burned out at 65k miles; that's troubling because I have a 2018 Fusion with 1.5 liter with the turbo with 40k miles. Mine has been very well taken care of. Comments anyone?

Yeah I noticed that too. I have the 2.0L with turbo. I had a 6 cyl Fusion prior. He never mentioned it.... I think we both have to worry about the transmission at 200k miles, long before the engine at 200k miles. Give it the oil it needs and a tranny fluid change @100k miles.

Most, if not all Japanese motor vehicle manufacturers have "fused" with American car companies. As you undoubtedly know, many Japanese (in name only) vehicles are built in the United States these days. In addition, the components that are used to build all motor vehicles are sourced from all over the world. So, we're all driving "fusions" today.

Scotty, have to disagree I had 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium. I ended up trading it in for 2016 Ford Focus ST hatchback. I felt like my 13 Fusion was like an "American Audi A4" --- A modern sport sedan with more pep and style than a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. Was there a little apprehension for long term reliability with all of the LCD displays and Touchscreen, yes? Ultimately, I just wanted a fun to drive car with a manual transmission. At the time you could only get a Manual Fusion in the low SE Trim with the 2.5L 4cyl base engine. After arguing about trying to get a special order Fusion Titanium or Sport with a manual, I just gave up and got the Focus ST. I was about 9 months too early to get the really hot AWD Focus RS. But I still love my Focus ST, great fun car. The Focus ST has a similar 2.0L Turbocharged 4cyl as the Fusion Titanium, but Ford at the time called it the "High Output" 2.0L engine in the ST.

We must also disagree, although it doesn't have a turbo, we have a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium and know what you mean!! VERY luxurious ride is underestimated just because of the Ford brand sadly. Ours is currently around 170k miles being used as a daily driver. Very low maintenance car and only need to fuel up twice a year.

I have flashbacks every time I see a older Ford Fusion. It was the vehicle I drove on my driver's test last year on my 31st Birthday a fateful cold sunny October 30th day. They disabled the power steering and the handling of the steering was that of a old Jeep. It was bad that and the tires were low on pressure. Mind you I passed that day I scored a 82 2 above a passing. Never again do I want to go near a Ford Fusion 😩

I have a 2016 SE 2.5L. I used to have a 2013 Ecoboost, but at about 30k the turbo started whining. I traded it in before the warranty ran out. The 2016 just turned 100k. Runs like new! The camera did act up for a short time. It was due to the shifter linkage end connector being worn out. A recall fixed that. Plastic clip on the end of the cable! WHY plastic?! Something like that should be METAL! I wish they still made cars. I hate SUVs. Guess I'll be looking for a used one when mine has to be replaced.

Why don’t so many people never change the transmission fluid? It’s in the owners manual to change it. I have been changing my fluid since the 70’s. It was every 25,000 miles now with full synthetic it’s every 60,000… I just don’t understand why they ignore it???

American manufacturers stopped making sedans because Americans have been convinced that they want SUV's. There aren't enough sedans sold in the US to make it worthwhile to have their plants work one shift a day. If you want a family sedan, you must look overseas.

I agree and yet not all cars from American brands are bad, they have this mindset that everyone wants SUVs and that they won’t compete with the Europeans and Japanese, for what I could say their point of view and even Ford one time exported some cars from Europe into the US, even Merkur a brand from Ford that are actually a European Ford model that are made from Ford’s Cologne facility in Germany that are imported and sold in the US.

Factory cars with turbos on them get a bad rap from guys like this. All three of my vehicles are boosted, two turbos, and one SC. If you take care of them, and don't drive them like you stole them, they will last just as long as an NA car. Scotty, I know you have a lot of subscribers, but some of your claims are mere opinion, not based on fact. Everyone can get a lemon, but that doesn't mean they are all bad. I have owned all three American brands, and nothing beats Ford for longevity and reliability.

Nope, never had the turbo worked on, even when it was under warranty, which covered the car for 4 years/125k miles. I also got a "Total 360 Protection Plan" that covered tire and wheel repairs and replacements, 24 hour rode side assistance, dent repair, and key FOB replacements that lasted for 5 years. The protection plan is what I was able to use and abuse for the tires, wheels, and key FOBs. Very much worth it for me.
