I enjoy collecting Diamalloy and Diamond Calk Horseshoe tools because they remind me of Klein Tools. Both Midwestern USA made, and both known for their quality types of pliers. Klein was geared toward telephone and electrical wires, while Diamond stuck with farmer type tools. It's always fun to find a Diamond with the horseshoe logo on it.

Use a pair with an old timer fenceman. At 75 years old he has forgot more then I know . His eyes are as good as the best quality level. They are a must have doing fenceing for acreage. This was not a piece of crap you were working on. Just high quality ice cream. Nice restoration on a must needed tool in the country. Your channel is like watching your favorite shows, you are an entertaining restoration star. Congratulations on your utube channel. I am always looking forward to your next restoration. Thanks again.

You deserve every subscriber! If even more subscribed the world would most certainly be a happier place! Beeing from Europe we have a bit of a headstart over US with regard to old things. The oldest building in my town is from the middle ages, around 1000 years old. It houses a fancy restaurant. The church started construction in 1270 and was finished 1435. Imagine the wait for that! We also have runestones scattered around that are 1000+ years old. You'd think we would take care and protect them but no, they just stand around wherever. The state clean them sometimes though.

If an inexpensive 1x30 belt sander does the job for a guy that does 3 restorations a week, I think it will be more than adequate for most people...........Always love the multi-tools and those look to be real high quality fence pliers.

HI Scout. ...congrats on 25K! I smiled when you talked about going back in time and burying coins. I had the same thought as a kid. I used to also think about early American furniture - buy it new, store it in a warehouse for a couple hundred years, and then have brand new antiques worth $$$$. I just went to a local flea market in my area that has their events every third Sunday of each month. October was the last one of the year, so I went being the weather was perfect. I came across a tool booth and saw a Diamalloy 10in. D710 adjustable wrench in great condition with no rust. As I picked it up, I remember this video and thought to myself, "Scoutcrafter would want me to get it". So I bought it for 8 bucks. The adjusting screw is a little sticky so I'll probably clean it out with some mineral spirit or brake parts cleaner.

The regular claw hammer, regular pliers, a fence stretcher and a container of staples were with me for building or repairing fence. The bar stretcher was so much easier to work with than a rope stretcher. It was a load so you did not want to walk very far. That is why many kept their fence lines clear so it was easy to get a truck or tractor in. Not many want that kind work these days. Then again check out the cost of installing posts, woven and barbed wire on 40 acres. You could buy a really good used truck for the money or a serious down payment on another property. Hard to believe a barn with hay loft and good fencing would be almost cost prohibitive.

The pliers look terrific. Well done as usual. In my home town in the UK there is a Tudor mansion, built in the mid 1500's. A good place to bury something if you buried it deep enough in the late 1400's. I have a conflict tomorrow with Jacktown and my local wood turning club. Sad that I will not be able to go to Jacktown, but looking forward to rubbing shoulders with the turning club members. Our meetings are presently via Zoom. We may have the first live meeting at local Woodcraft store in December. I hope this holds, it will be another good sign of life returning to normal. Dave.

Congratulations mate, 25,000 hey? It’s just the beginning and we’ll be celebrating your 100,000 in no time. Great restoration on the pliers. I have no use for them but will buy some when I come across them to add to my tool wall. Too nice not to own. You’re right with improvements in our skills. I have re-done many a restoration because my earlier attempts were pitiful. And I still finish something and then think, “I should have done.....”. Oh well, next time. Great episode and loved the differences in photos of the same place. That’s human nature, change and reform things to suit their lifestyle, taste or trend. Great job mate, looking forward to every video you make.
