Scowl, composed of members Kat Moss (vocals), Malachi Greene (guitar), Bailey Lupo (bass), Cole Gilbert (drums), and Mikey Bifolco (guitar), has swiftly risen to prominence as a dynamic force in hardcore. With the release of their 2023 EP, "Psychic Dance Routine," recorded under the guidance of Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip, Scowl continues to defy categorization by exploring the more melodic facets of rock without negating their hardcore roots. Led by Moss's cutting lyricism and the band's propulsive song structures, Scowl's Audiotree Live performance is a blast into hardcore punk’s past, present, and future. Interviewed by Audiotree Host, FINGY, the band chats about what they love about the hardcore genre/community, the Santa Cruz hardcore scene, and the story behind their song 'Bloodhound.' I know they're not JUST punk, but in terms of that scene there are just SO many great bands right now. Scowl, Destroy Boys, Soul Glo, even Turnstile in the pop direction. This gen will be looked at in deep fondness.

I saw them when they were on tour with Show Me The Body (also Zulu and Jesus Piece, crazy lineup) and their set was amazing. Kat Moss has a perfect voice for live shows, I feel like studio releases don't capture how much depth her voice has. One of the best crowds and pits I've been around too, shoutout to Scowl 🖤

Hc-Punk band? They are playing this summer at the Primavera Sound (with Gel by the way), which is a fest promoted by Santander Bank, Cupra, Pull & Bear, Estrella Galicia... It is cool nowadays to have a punk-hc "attitude" and having songs like "Sould-out" and then selling-themselves-out playing in the most capitalistic music fest in Spain
