@"Digifangsn" yes, back then, on Monday, April 5, 1993, this "Scrabble" game show had Mr. Charles "Chuck" H. Woolery as its previous host just as his former studio announcer there was late Mr. Arthur W. Ferguson [though professionally known as "Charlie Tuna"]!

In that third word in the first crossword game, I think Chuck meant to say "I'll add $1000 to the jackpot if you can tell me what it is right now". Did he forget you don't give them money this time? LOL.

UNC won the title that night with a bit of embarrassment for the Wolverines. In the game's final few moments, Michigan's Chris Webber tried to call time upon being double-teamed when the team had no timeouts to use. In so doing, he was given a technical foul. This proved moot years later, with Michigan vacating its 1992-93 season due to Webber getting paid under the table by a booster.

Scrabble should be on either Game Show Network or Buzzr TV. It should be on Buzzr TV though since they got they big sister show $ale of the century is on there.
@gregersen800152 жыл бұрын
It can go on Buzzr since Reg Grundy is now part of that Fremantle conglomerate. The only thing standing in their way is that Hasbro now has control of Milton Bradley AND Parker Brothers and they own the rights to the Scrabble board game (heresay from elsewhere mind you)...from what I understand Hasbro collectively now isn't as loose with its copyrights as Milton Bradley was when they were all separated.

At the end of this show, it talked about Telephone Scrabble and how an alternate entry method worked. I didn't do well in Telephone Scrabble and I lost out back in 1993. It resulted in a poor Christmas for us 7 months later, well, times have changed now as they were 26 years ago. Too bad Scrabble ended its run, and now Fremantle owns the rights to the series.

The pink and blue squares were for adding money to the bonus jackpot
@blindsportslover7 жыл бұрын
Nick Johnson while it was a good concept, I would've liked it better if the jackpot started at $5,000. I wouldn't have even minded if the blue squares were worth $1,000 and the pink squares $2,000 in this version.
@samsticka6 жыл бұрын
The blue squares were worth $500 while the pink ones were worth $1,000. The real life Scrabble has red squares. They should've included those on the TV version. Those could've been worth $1,500.

@tomdalfonzo99594 жыл бұрын
@@blindsportslover, I agree with you about the blue squares being worth $1,000 and the pink squares being worth $2,000 in this version, but I personally would start the jackpot at $10,000.
