I used to Alpha test this mod in 2018 when all it was was just adding USA, Britain and France to the main FOTS map Amazing to see how far its come

The shogun 2 modding community is really something to admire. Also the central America nations made me realize we need a latin America total war game set during their independence

There is a mod for the original rome total war that covers the south american revolutions

would be awesome to see a modern total war from 1840 to 1900 with the Mexican war, American Civil War, Franco Prussian war and Franco danish war, maybe even Boer war etc, and south and Central American independence, and smaller scale conflicts like Carliest and various empire exbhiditions into their colonies.

Honestly mods like these give me hope for Shogun 3 and future Empire Total War games, but with CA being as it is I can’t see any of the future games being as expansive as this.

Yeah it’s like there’s some future possibility and potential for projects that are so close to being realized, it would be nice to see it eventually, but who knows only time will tell...

Imagine the many new campaigns possible with this mod ie (The Seconds Mexican-American War, American Civil War 2.0, Franco-Prussian War with foreign intervention, and Barbary Pirates invading Honduras, and the Crimean War but reversed)

If you want, i can give you the latest alpha of the new mod we are making (The Carlist wars). It's the main mod that will be the base of a big European map. Maybe you could make a preview/review video about it? It's still in early alpha, but then you got an idea what we are aiming for.

I play this game a lot and have a lot of unit mods and mods that make the game look better but my favorite of course is adding units and I have yet to find a complete conversion mod like this. The amount of factions it has looks like the unit variety is going to be really good and I love making custom battles and doing videos on them. I'm guessing this is not going to run well with other mods the only downside to modding fallout samurai is trial and error to see which ones work and which ones crash your game

I say my only complaint with this mod despite everything that it does nicely. Is this, The Shogunate faction being full of OLD SCHOOL IS HONOURABLE!!!!!!! by that the whole thing that its mostly focused on sengoku era weapons only. aside from imported cannons and the 2 line infantry. The rest is all matchlock, spears, katana!!!!!, bow and naginata. I get it might just be a fun design choice but enough people already believe that the shogunate side never used the advance weapons out of honour bull plop.

Yeah, sold. A Victorian Era TW would be hands down the best. End game being WWI or something. If CA looks at current games, big or small. They can really adopt some mechanics to use to make a Victoria/WWI TW game. Field fortifications, since they like their percentage buffs and such, add in tech or skills that gives more options for field works or more of them. Gun nests and trenches. Have battles take place over multiples days. Depending on commander or faction, ability to attack at night. Grand Tactician Civil War can teach CA a thing or two. Manpower be a thing a again. Perhaps instead of each individual entity representing a 300 man unit, a unit representing 3000 men, brigade size of late American Civil War, but with only 300 representing them on screen. On screen units replaced the next engagement with units from the brigade? Interesting no?

Yes definitely bring back population or a manpower like mechanic. Also agree that sieges should have more variation and there should be units that can construct or create fortifications: trenches etc in battle. Timeline wise it should be from like the Congress of Vienna to the Treaty of Versailles so 1815-1919. I think there should be flexibility in government types and perhaps adding formable nations: forming Italy and Germany for example.

Yes I believe so, just join the mod's server and there is a multiplayer section and guidelines there!

this is a side question, does stand and fight cancel scare enemies? for example if i had a general who can reduce enemy morale by a total of 4 from various different factors thanks in advance

Doubtful, stand and fight just increases melee attack I believe, although a leadership general in avatar would most likely have the improved morale for all troops. But yeah if you have a general with like menpo mask along with other retainers or things to lower morale then I would say it should work. Just don’t let your opponents get the shrine or pop off a rally.

You can only have them in the custom battles, they’re not in the campaign, likely the kidders will make a future campaign featuring them!

I’ll probably do a video on how to download mods that are not from steam in general at some point, but check the mods website: basically download their new beta files then extract the pack files into your Shogun 2 data folder, from there they act exactly like mods you’d subscribe to on the steam workshop! Hope that helps!

One thing i cant forgive this mod, is changing the battle UI symbols, the gun sound and smoke. I dont know if its more realistic, but it is so much worse than vanilla
