They are good boots...I've had mine for 5 years and many thousands of miles. Parked up and hiked up hills and countryside in them!. Looking a bit battered but still going strong. Cheers, Steve ps like the sound of the 'big trip' !

Great review. I have the the short Adv Formas and love them for all round adv riding. Super comfortable. 100% water proof with over pants and have never had cold feet and they have never felt too hot.I will take comfort over full on safety. They aren't the safest but that's OK with me. I have just ordered another pair of the long boots just for off-roading. Great boots.....

A couple months ago and had a little spill where the scrambler landed on my foot at a weird angle. Thought for sure that was going to be it for my foot, but no problems. Even slammed my foot on a boulder hard at another point. It hurt, but not even a bruise later.

Well, I was just unlucky. Watched all the reviews and bought a pair. First trip, 45 miles on roads in constant rain and arrived with a wet left foot!! Have to say, I emailed the company in the UK and within 4 days I had a new pair. Fingers crossed for my next trip

Ah shit! Hope you have better luck with the pair. Since I made this video, my Forma Adventure boots have been really tested, and had help up until recently. I rode all the way to the top of Alaska with these boots. They've stood in the Arctic ocean. I've crashed numerous times, and dropped two different bikes on a foot but was fine. Across the country a few times, countless rain storms, etc. No issues until recently. The sole of the boot got semi ripped off, but I think I can fix with the proper glue.

These boots are still going strong for me. 16,000 miles to Alaska and back, no issues. 8,000 miles recently across the US, with some crashes in the desert, including the bike falling on my foot. Didn't get hurt, still no issues, still waterproof!

I have the forma "terra" (spelling ?) For the past 3.5 years. I first choose them because that model fit wide feet. (I wear 9.5 size in 4E ...) they are very confortable, i commute to work everyday and no issues. Also no problems in summer vegas heat or winter mountain snow. one thing to be careful with is when installing the metal boot protector it takes a bit to get used to it . It is a bit slipery when putting the foot down on the street. When those wear out, ill get another pair

I’ve been looking for a pair of boots that go well with my BMW R1200GSA. Looking into Sidi, Gaerne, Alpinestar, too, but this Forma looks good to me. I would like boots in which I can walk around and operate shift pedal and brake pedal easily. Yes, I think I’ll go for this.

They are probably the most comfortable adventure boot, but if you're riding hard off-road, something with more ankle protection would be good. I picked up Gaerne Dakar boots which are more protective, but not as comfortable. Still very comfortable where I can wear them all day once they were broken in.

Love everything about the boot but would need to be in black. Other riders are telling me they are the best boot out there. Can I ask what are they like for support.

They come in black as well! They feel really good. The boots are all I had on me for two months when I rode up to Alaska and back. They won't be protective as MX boots of course, but they are quite comfortable to walk around in and still very protective. This past fall I went out to Arizona to ride around the desert for a month. Smashed my foot on a rock at one point and it was fine. Then dropped the bike on my foot at a weird angle and was still fine.

Just ordered a pair from fc moto (Germany) as I live in Europe. Hope they're as great as everyone says. The Richa boots that I've been using for a season are barely ok but not great.

Yes, they're from Ugly Bros. I have gotten a few pairs from them over the years. Knee/hip inserts that can be inserted. Which I used to wear most of the time, but to be honest, now I normally just wear them off-road and traveling long distance.

Do you think these are safe enough for fire roads and light single track? I'm kinda between these and A-Stars Tech 5 which is a dedicated mx boot

I would think so. My videos haven't caught up to my riding around the desert of Arizona yet, but I had few mishaps out there. Slammed my foot into a boulder. Hurt, but was 100% afterward. Dropped the bike on my foot at one point, at a weird angle, and was once again fine. And this was through some tough terrain, too tough for my bike. Rock steps, etc. An MX boot will certainly be more protective, but these will also be a lot more comfortable. I can wear them all day without issue.

I dig the look of them. I know they aren't going to provide the same ankle protection as my SIDI do, but I think they would be perfect for dual-sporting around. What pants are you wearing? Those look cool too.

Ugly Bros jeans. My preferred pants for riding. FYI, I did end up breaking my ankle in Mexico with these boots. I replaced them with Gaerne Dakar boots.

@ScramblerStories Man, I am sorry to hear that. I decided to go with the SIDI 2 Adventure boots for that reason. More support. I already wear SIDI motocross boots for my non dual sport dirtbike.

Hi, how you choose which size to buy? Did you buy 1 size bigger, how is in size guide from Forma boots, or you just measure your foot, and shoose correct size, not 1 size bigger? I have problem, i can't try anywhere in my country this boots in size 49 Eu or 50 EU (15 or 16 US size). I wish to order online but I don't wish to choose wrong and than sending back and stuff like that. Thank you

I can't vouch for EU sizing, but in US sizing it was an exact fit from what I typically wear, which is size 11. Bought an 11 and have zero issues. Didn't have to size up or down. I would expect the same for EU, but I'd recommend looking for online EU reviews to see if the sizing is just as accurate.

@@ScramblerStories Thank you. all my shoes are in size 14 US (320mm) but Forma should be size 15 US (320mm inside). Ther is almost zero review for Forma Nero boots, so that is why i have problem with size guide. Thank you, you help me a lot with you answer.

ive had mine for just over 2 years and i wear them min 5 days a week as i commute in them all year round, very very comfy, in -5 even after 50 mins riding my feet are still toastie warm, they have never leaked water in all the time and thats including the near monsoon weather we have been having in the uk for last few months ! after 2 years hard use they still look good. i have sidi sports boots also alpinestar tech6 full on motox boot and i would wear those all the time as there protection is head and shoulders above the forma boot BUT the tech6 my feet freeze in the cold weather and they are not in any way shape or form waterproof so the forma gets my vote, would i buy another pair ! yes please and well recomended.

For my Alaska trip, the only footwear I brought was my Forma Adventure boots. So I wore them everywhere and had no complaints!

Nice to have a UK review because our weather sucks. I'm currently looking for new boots as I commute daily too and my RST adventure boots have started to let water in after just a year, these may be the winner

Most typically, normal socks. Sometimes ski socks in the cold, also I have bamboo compression socks which work great for long days in the saddle.

Boot cut jeans should fit over them, however I can't say I have any to test. I like my slim pants if it wasn't obvious, and they won't go over the boot. If I wear my Sand 3 pants, they go over the boot without issue. As do my waterproof over pants.

Are these too big to shift with on more of a dirt bike style dual sport?

I haven't had an issue in any of the bikes I've ridden. DR650, Tiger 800XCa, Scrambler1200, and my Scrambler.

Still great! Now I've had them for over three years, they've been all over the US, including all the way to the top of Alaska. In Arizona I've crashed the bike a few times in the desert, including dropping the bike on my foot! Wasn't hurt and they are still holding up/waterproof. Hot in the summer of course because they're waterproof, but I haven't needed to replace them, still going strong!

No issues for me. Recently I wore them and only them (didn't pack extra shoes) on my Key West Fl to Prudhoe Bay Alaska trip (and back). Still doing great, and was fine with them as my only footwear for a few months.

@@ScramblerStories that's good to hear. I only asked as I just bought a pair and after sitting on the bike to get a feel my first impression was the difficulty in moving my foot around the leg for shifting. Guess it's something you get used to.

Still doing great. Wore them on my Key West FL to Prudhoe Bay Alaska trip. Didn't bring any other shoes or anything with me for that trip. The boots were just fine. Recently I was riding around the deserts of Arizona and had a few crashes. Slammed my foot into a rock at one point, and had the bike fall on my foot another time. The rock hurt, but my foot was fine both times.

But the sole grips are a bit gnarly on my Honda crf300l aggressive footpegs, I'd prefer a smoother tread so gear shifting would be easier.

Yes, that's definitely true. I got shoes I want to take off right away, but not these boots. Sadly I think my boots have seen their end. 6 years, and 50-60,000 miles later, I'm struggling to keep the soles on with Shoe Goo. Will be making a long term video on them soon.

Depends. Compared to MX boots then certainly aren't as protective. But they're also a lot more comfortable. I only brought these on my 16,000 mile trip to Alaska and back. No shoes or sandals. So I wore them all the time and did not have issues. But I've also not crashed wearing these.
