There was a strong Viking longship vibe to Xyla’s boat. Leaves you to wonder, would they have been such successful invaders if they had all been rocking bright yellow duck heads and butts? 🤷♀️

Or is Xyla secretly a Viking?

Agreed! We discussed that several times, even contemplated a Viking funeral for it at the end, but decided against it. Probably for the best.

Great video! Xyla is a great builder and creative user of “Botal Tote” products. I’m inspired by her to try new projects and new ways of doing projects. I would really like the see Jason, From the Bourbon Moth channel take the Scrap Boat Challenge at some point int he future. He seems a good follow-on to Xyla for the series.

Scrap they say. What a useful pile of nice stuff. When I build shit with my brother, when we were a kids, it was made from palette wood only and lots of asphalt melted by fire in old pot. Ship was around slightly more than 1 meter long and around half meter wide, but it weights more than both of us together. It barely floats, but it was able to carry both two kids. What a times with burned skin and splinters.

Yer Uncle Taz reporting in from two years in the future: Great boat based on Improv. Some notes: needs a stability element like a keel or rudder to help it keep straight. That said, I was pleasantly surprised it wasn't to nose heavy and thought it might have needed a void creating balloon during the filling of the head. Still- Well done.

When I first heard Letterkenny's Wayne call Dary "11-ply, bud" I assumed he meant cardboard or perhaps plywood which seemed like a nice compliment. Only much later I learned he meant TP, as in super-soft. 🐰

this was funny, no real form for the foam made for extra drag rough bottom it seems. ending I'm thinking "dang, no one taught her a J stroke" for paddling straight from one side of the craft.. is pulling yourself forward but end of stroke paddle turned 90 degrees to push outward 8-12" (as needed) to rudder+correct, would have been shorter lap time. OK Xyla did engineering school not canoeing school....
