No, you don't have to treat your pages first. The drops of water should just push the ink leaving little dots. You might be using either too much or too little water.

I’m confused as a card maker. I understand Journal pages for demonstration purposes but what do you do with it? Do you just keep the journals? Is it a reference for what you like? What you’ve done?

Everyone Art Journals for different reasons. I personally art journal to try out techniques or when I just want to create something. I like to art journal because it is in a book. I'm not making a pile of cards or art I don't want to put on the walls. But I have it all in a book that I created. Others use it as an actual journal for writing their thoughts mixed in with art. It's a great way to look back at the art you created.

I love this way of creating a background but for some reason it doesn't work for me with water and distress stains.... do you treat your pages with gesso first?

How do you stop the ink going through the page onto the back/front of the next page? I have trouble with this
@ScrapTimeVideos10 жыл бұрын
I sometimes will put a piece of paper or paper towel under my page to prevent the ink getting on the one below it. Other times, I just let it happen.

ScrapTimeVideos So you don't mind it going onto the underneath side of the work you're doing?? Then when you go to paint/ink on that page how do you stop it leaking back through onto the work you've just done?? This might be a stupid question but I don't want to ruin what I've just made
@ScrapTimeVideos10 жыл бұрын
When ink transfers onto other pages, it just doesn't bother me. If it bothers you, you might just want to work on 1 side of the page, not both sides. Then it will only seep onto the next page you are going to use, and you can cover it up with paint or gesso.
