I love the tip with the duct tape! What a nail saver! I’m also SO SO happy that I didn’t invest in a misti. I’ve been stamping for over 30 years, and there have been other ways to precisely place your stamps. That’s what I did, rather than waste my money on a Misti, which seemed absurdly expensive. When the Tim Holtz version came out though, I snatched it up quickly. It was affordable, and what a great way to create my Holiday Cards consistently. So sad that the Misti lady had to create such chaos over these tools. There’s room in this world for sharing and improvements. I will never give that Misty lady my business. Anyone who monopolizes an industry is just plain greedy in my opinion. I refuse to feed their egos. YAY for HEDGEHOG HOLLOW, Tim Holtz, Tonic Studios, and Ranger Products!! ❤️❤️❤️

As an international purchaser, we are very happy to see this tool. The 'other' brand was very cost prohibitive to ship and then get hit with import fees and VAT just made it crazy. This one is very competitively priced and also works with the corners. Brilliant! 😍 Thanks for the idea of using the teflon mat too. Hadn't seen that 'hack' yet. 😊

Good demonstration! I watched a Tim Holtz stamp press clip today and he said alcohol hand gel removes Sta-zon too - and it does work!

Your tip on using duct tape rather than washi tape or masking tape on the magnets is a very good one. Hopefully, everyone can learn from my mistake. I purchased one of those long rectangular magnets, & I had masking tape on it to help me pick it up. One day, I didn't need it in my Misti, so I stuck it onto my metal filing cabinet, which is right next to my work space. BIG MISTAKE! When I went to retrieve it, the masking tape tore and the magnet did not want to release from the cabinet. Long story later, I eventually was able to pry it off of the filing cabinet without breaking it (Whew). So, two hints if anyone else ever does something similar. 1) Use something stronger than washi tape or masking tape on your magnets. 2) If you do place your magnet onto another surface, make sure it hangs off the edge slightly so you can simply pull it off of the object without having to pry it.

First time with you, watching your many 🤓 videos & cant stop 😜. Your vids are easily heard, not dragged out, your voice is so pleasant and NOT annoying😘 . Very nice to meet you Hedgehog Hollow 😁 I second the foam mat for stamping. I was lucky enough to learn it from a professional and now it is second nature for me to stamp on foam. BTW, I’d like to thank 👍🏻❤️ my professional teacher 👩🏫 for instilling me with great habits & techniques since the beginning. Thank you very much (🆙 above) Carol Horton!

really? hm. i've always heard the pro's talk about using a 'pad' or something under the sheet of paper you are stamping onto when using acrylic stamps. i've actually never heard the newbies talk about it enough. it's like it's not become an across the board knowledge. i wish it was, kind of like "if you want to create art that mom likes, don't do it on the WALL" lol... it's just a thing we all know, ya know? cuz idk HOW many times i've messed up a project cuz i forget to use a foam pad under my paper when stamping. :/ ugh. THEN i learned that tidbit and went "ohhhh".. i STILL forget cuz i don't use ALL my gajillion stamps enough. :/ but i'm workin' on THAT part! :)

the tape around the magnet helps pick the magnet up. I used washie tape and wrapped it but kept a "tab" on it so it was easier to use. You will understand once you tri to pick up that magnet up a few times! Hope this helps.

If I could, I would give Tim Holtz and Tonic Studios a great big hug for designing such a terrific stamping tool. It is an absolute thing of beauty, and works just as well as the Misti that costs more than twice the amount. actually, I would say the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform is an improvement on the original concept. I'll likely never need to stamp a project that measures 16"x16", but I can do just that with this tool if need be. It's really sturdy, too! I can now stamp my 6x6 background stamps with ease and precision, and without breaking the bank to do so! I will, however, probably buy the Misti Creative Corners. They are a great idea at a price I can live with.

This is a very informative video. I've learned many things! There is one thing I need to ask. At a stamping class, I let another student use my stamp platform. She was using that Staz-On ink. Needless to say, she stained the glass part of my platform. I have been scrubbing it with water and got most of the ink off, but there's still a few stubborn ones. What do you suggest I use as a cleaning product for Staz-On ink marks! Thanks!

Is 2mm foam really the best thickness? Also, is there a big difference in foam brands? Would Darcie foam be ok? I’ve been meaning to get foam for my platform for a long time and in the meantime I’ve used a sheet of EZ Mount with the backing still on. I measured the thickness of the EZ Mount and it was 3mm. It works really well, although 3mm is also the approximate height of the lips on the two sides and the magnets don’t really work very well through the foam, although frankly the magnets haven’t helped at all because most of my stamps seem to be thinner, so the magnets prevent contact between the stamp and the paper! Similar problem with using the “clear” side without any foam - the stamps simply don’t reach the paper. Most of my stamps are either clear stamps from Michael’s (including the Jane Davenport stamps) or unmounted rubber from 100 Proof Press (I bought a ton over a decade ago). I’ve coated the backs of the rubber stamps with Aileen’s Tack-It Over & Over which has worked really well with acrylic blocks and the Stamp Platform (it occasionally leaves some residue, but that comes off the blocks easily with stamp cleaner or alcohol). Some of my rubber stamps will need a re-coating of the Aileen’s repositionable glue, but that’s not a big deal and cheaper and easier than EZ Mount. So has anyone tried another kind of foam/thickness? I really want to get this done and I’ve even considered buying 1mm foam and layering it until I get the best result (then, I guess, spray-glueing the sheets together?). I’m shopping at Amazon and I just want to pull the trigger (so to speak) but I loathe the idea of getting the wrong product! Thanks!!

My platform never printed across the image constantly- it always gave a patchy result especially in the middle... I tried everything but never got a clean result like with the Misti. Was it a fault platform? I gave it away but wished it had worked... I wonder if a 2mm foam would have "helped?" But if it doesn't need it - shouldn't have to resort to adding extra stuff...?
