Scraping and Burnishing an Intaglio Printmaking Plate

I'm taking a print making class for my art degree and doing my first copper etching. My plate came with some pretty bad scratches that I was having trouble getting out. This was really helpful! Thank you!

checking the sharpness by poking the fingernail made my knees weak! but anyway, thank you for the info about these materials! very easy to understand and straight to the point!
