How would set up for scraping softer woods such as spruce and cedar? Using both card and scraper planes? Thanks

It doesn't really matter what kind of oil. light food grade mineral oil is a better choice than camelia if you aren't always going to have a heated shop - same thing as norton's light honing oil, but when it's sourced for commercial machine maintenance or lubrication, it's only about $15 or so a gallon. My oldest container (about 12 or 14 years old) shows no discoloration or degrading.

Great job Deneb. Who needs dust in the lungs and a high-end extractor? With card scrapers a dust shaving is considered a poor result though? What gives? Shawn f.

I've never seen a more meticulous, fastidious and simultaneously laid-back presentation. I can imagine him explaining equally calmly the procedures he's following while assaulting a machine gun nest!
