The mechs "stop feature" is not a stop feature it is actually for flying. You jump and hold that down to fly up then 5 to go forwards.

This is how the purple aliens could be: The purple aliens are the tryx. They have a little bit more abstract shapes on their tech. They also make sudden attacks. They are neutral in their behaviour.
