@deamichaelis12 ай бұрын
I was expecting you to try compressed pistons instead of suspension thus it slows it down by resisting extension, this would make it so you didn't need all that stuff behind the car and it would resist just as much as you needed to and you could possibly set the piston speed to something related to a speed sensor to make it dampen it even more smoothly or with even more pistons to resist if that doesn't have enough power. I would love to see if this would work, or if I am just missing something on why you didn't try this.

I was itching so much to tell you that you could've just detached the cushioned break system at a delay of like 0.05 seconds (and adjust from there until you get the perfect number) since the only problem your final system seemed to have was that your car rubber-banded backwards AFTER the break.

I think it is a bit different functionally from crashing into a wall, since the anchor is in the back. When you crash, the front of your car stops and pushes back against the rest of it, kinda folding in on itself. Here, however, the back of the car stops first and is pulling back the rest. In a realistic scenario, this would probably tear the car apart, and honestly, it would probably be more likely to survive this, than a car crash. Now, I can only assume the reason the car doesn’t break immediately is because damage from pulling is calculated differently than damage from pushing in Trailmakers.
@Chalemeon2 ай бұрын
An idea for a next slightly simmilar video. You can make a car that slows down by using parachute, you can deploy parachute using detechable block, parachute should be connected by tethers, and the main body of the parachute should be made from sails that extend after you deploy it.
@malhardeadshot61182 ай бұрын
the reason u are getting the spring back is the suspension trying to expand again and overcoming the friction force produced by the vehicle, to solve this either increase the vehicle weight or decrease the spring stiffness not damping. also the vehicle might not be receiving damage is probablly because the force produced is away from the vehicle instead of inside it and game calculates this force and maybe consider that the damage is outside the vehicle, so if the anchor blocks were to be on the front then there would be vehicle damage maybe.
@Cax.S2 ай бұрын

Scrapman: "I want to make an Instant Braking system for a vehicle." Me: "You're going to build a wall????" Scrapman: "But it can't destroy the vehicle." Me: "You're going to build a Flex Tape wall, then?????" If you wanted to make it even more sketchy, you could have attached the "braking" anchor to some power couplers and ran those up and over the vehicle and connected them to the front bumper of the car. You know, so when the instant breaking, pardon, braking happens the power couplers will explode across the entire car and also there will be a force that tries to backflip the car. If you can manage to some how feed it underneath the car, then you'll get the thing to frontflip with explosions happening under it like it's a Bichael May movie.
@steeljawX2 ай бұрын
Why are you building it back more and more and more? Slap those suspension arms to the sides of the car and reinforce the entire structure between. Think about the velocity of the forces at play. You're accelerating one direction, the springs are loading up. There's already a pivotal force on the pistons and anchor blocks from all the force happening so high up on them. Then you go to the back where everything is connected. Those frame struts are basically being wishboned inwards as you end up pulling on the dampening suspension and when you're flung back, there's an inverse rotational force trying to turn them outwards. I don't expect Trailmakers to tolerate such insanity, but you're essentially "clapping" your dampening arms when you try your system at high speed. And they give your rear bumper a good clap back. If you had those arms on either side of the car and struts bridging the two arms behind, you'd be able to get a little more structural reinforcement to prevent that "clapping". However, again, I don't know if it'd make a huge difference due to Trailmakers just looking at things like, "You're moving too fast and you're using power connectors on your build....NO!!!" and then things "spaghettify". It could make a difference. It could make no difference at all. It just seems like trying to have two individual arms get loaded up with suspension force and you attempting to drive away is just a guaranteed failure for them when they're not supported.

This is a great question. The answer is really interesting. What makes G forces dangerous is not only the magnitude, but also the length of time that the force is sustained. For instance, prolonged exposure to 8 Gs will definitely kill a person. However, one member of the US Air Force survived a force of 46 Gs sustained for a very brief moment. One F1 driver survived a crash in which he is estimated to have experienced 214+ Gs, which is crazy to even imagine. TLDR: You can sustain really really high Gs if they last for only a fraction of a second.
