Hi Daphne, I have been watching your Blossom series while I am making the same for my mother, and I have ended up watching the base video over and over again to make sure I have everything right. In this video, you insert and glue the pocket pages into the album without the flaps and decoration. But when making the individual pages, the base (I presume this is the pocket page), is not attached to an album. Is this because you're trying to just focus on making the base of the album in this specific video? In your normal process, do you complete the pocket pages while the page is glued into the album? Or do you use a base piece of black paper to position and decorate everything first, and then glue the base piece of black paper to the pocket page? BTW, just love your shop's service, how quickly the paper arrives, the little baggies with charms, and great prices. I make an effort to budget some money every money to get something from your shop. Your videos are so great. You guys are just amazing.

Hi Teresa, thank you so much for the kind words your business means everything to us. Now, on to your question, I use the base build video's over and over so I wanted to show how to install the pocket page as part of base build. I do not install the pocket page until I have added interactive elements because it's at bit easier to manage in my work space. So you can do it either way. Again my prefered method is to work the page outside of the cover because you'll have a flatter surface to decorate. Daphne

Just following up - any other questions?

@@ScrapNCreateVideos thank you for your answer. I will try it both ways to find out what’s easier. But As I watch the video and practice, it is getting easier to put the package page onto the hinge with all decorations attached so maybe waiting till I’m done with decoration before putting on package page is best way to go too.

Because you need to score 3 sides to create a pocket you really have to go against the grain. I would recommend going with the grain for two of the scores and against for the bottom of the pocket. Daphne

What a wonderfully complete video. It is very easy to follow and all the explanations are helpful. Thank you for all your perfectionist techniques. I haven’t made an album yet, so this may be an ignorant question. But, when you are scoring the hinge, why not just start scoring at 2 1/2” and then score every 1/2” from that beginning? Seems less confusing that way. Congratulations on your obvious skills.

Hi Daphne - I am binge watching all of your videos and loving each one. You are a very talented book maker! My question - you do seem to have a preference for 8.5 x 8.5 albums and I wondered why that is. Is it because the design papers from G45 and Stamperia tend to lend themselves to the 8x8 page size so that you're not getting too much waste and off-cuts? Or do you just prefer that size and are able to use more than 1 pack (in the case of Stamperia) to accommodate whatever design you choose? Thanks for a reply!
@ScrapNCreateVideos5 жыл бұрын
I have polled viewers and that is the most requested size. It is a size that works works well with both 12 x 12 paper packs and the 8 x 8 paper packs. I generally use more than one pack as stamperia only has 10 sheets that would not allow for any interactive pages. Daphne

Hi Daphne, me again! Can you confirm the measurements for the chipboard cover and spine? The video shows 8-1/2 x 8-1/4, but the cut list shows 8-1/2 x 8-1/2. And for the inside liner, the video shows 8-1/4 x 8, but the cut list shows 8-3/8 x 8-3/8. Thanks!
@ScrapNCreateVideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ann - you can use either measurement. At some point i decided to make it square seemed easier and I wanted the cover to extend to protect the pocket inserts which usually stick out about 1/2". If you go with the 8 1/2 x 8 1/4 you will want to make sure the inserts don't stick out beyond the cover (if they do just trim them down a bit. Either way the internal pocket pages remain the same 8 x 8. Daphne
