I once made a mistake - but it turned out I was mistaken!! 😁🤣🤣
This ewaste pick-up turned out to be one of the best ever after initially thinking I'd wasted my time picking up a monster TV!!
Happy days! 😜😊
If you enjoy my channel and would like to support future content, please consider subscribing, giving a 'thumbs up' and adding a comment below - even if you just say "Hi 👋"
It helps more than you know with the KZbin algorithm to increase my channel's exposure & growth.
Also, I now have an Amazon storefront where I share links to assorted tools & equipment I use and recommend. As well, I'll be adding links for various supplies and products used in my videos as time goes on. Even if you purchase something on Amazon totally unrelated after entering through one of my links, it really helps support my channel with a small commission.. and it costs you nothing extra at all! 😊👍

Hi Chris, I bought one of those TV's about 10 years ago from Ebay for $30 as it was broken, but I didn't care cause I was only after the Fresnel lens, I ended up pulling everything apart even those things that you didn't but I can't remember the liquid inside, the mirror was so shinny and perfect and flawless, I had to drive 1 hour to pick up the TV and 1 hour back, anyway 2 weeks later someone down my street threw another one out so I pick it up and repeated the process again. Anyway towards the end of the video when you decided to keep the lens and just rested it outside I said to myself OH-NO, I better contact him to tell him to more it straight away before he sets the place on fire, and luckily at the end of the video I saw that you did some research and realized how dangerous it was and moved it. Thank God we have the internet

This is in fact a CRT Rear projection set. Unlike the typical vacuum tube sets, CRT rear projection sets, and by extension CRT projectors work exactly as you might deduce on first glance- powerful lamps built with optical lenses and special coolant throw a super bright, individual Red Green and Blue image that converge, either onto your projection screen, or in the case of rear projection sets, onto a good mirror and then into the Fresnel lens The lamps are a good item to stockpile because they dont make them anymore and there are things you can do with them if you have the technical know-how to drive them. Not saying its something you'd want to do, but those lamps are something that would require an extreme amount of knowledge to recreate them, let alone recreate them in a cost-effective manner
