Hello scrappers and planet lovers. This video will show you all the free copper, silver, steel, and other metals that are found in an old vhs player. I will show you how to safely and effectively separate the metals in order to maximize your profits. The best thing about a vhs player is that it is all scrapable and diverted from the landfill.

Junkshop owner here in the Philippines buy any kind of recyclable materials for profit they made like 50-90% profit per kilogram of transaction, for example junkshop owner buy cardboard for 0.13 a kg and sell it directly to big corporation for bulk for 0.18 per kg easy profit.. Thank you for saving landfill from toxic e waste mr tin man

So true, I had to explain to my young lad what a video player was, he's only 11. Just shows you how technology has progressed in a short few years. Great video buddy👍👍

Thanks. Ironic that today I post a video on scrapping a vhs player and I had to repair our vhs/DVD player 20 mins later. Unfortunately the vhs part does not work anymore. Amazing how much money people used to spend on buying the movies and DVD and now they are all on Netflix, etc.

0.05 profit x 1 ton =45.35 us dollar that's a lot of profit for just one item to recycle. Mostly in 1 week they can collect 2-5 tons of cardboard boxes. The boxes came from supermarket that has contract on that junkshop owner and people that drive on the junkshop and recycle their waste from home.

I just about always throw my VCRs if they don’t work in for shred probably not the best idea. My problem is I have so much scrap that I don’t have time to take everything apart. I do this as a hobby/of course I need to make money. Somewhat retired Roofer. All I do with the roofing is subcontract my work out and I follow my crew called the Travelers around and do videos for KZbin. Other than that I am just a straight out Scrapper. And between everything I don’t have time to micro scrap unfortunately I get way too many telephone calls telling me to pick up bunches of goodness. When I get back from New Jersey and by the way I met The Silver Scorpion or skews me I am going to meet The Silver Scorpion on my way home he lives in Virginia. While I was here in New Jersey I met radar NJ

Nice informative video, you always say you have a e-waste recycler in your area, could you tell us the E-waste price so we can relate to a e-waste price vs scraping price. Also a steel price in pound would help better than the ton price. I know it is price/2000 but I have to stop and do the math in my head, takes my mind off of watching the video. Nice if you used pounds for all of your prices. Excellent video, keep up the good work and videos, Teacher! Look forward to seeing Silver recovery videos!

Ewaste I get only a few cents a pound at the one yard. They don’t separate into low, medium, of high. That is why I hold on to the gold for now and silver contacts. There is a place online....board source that I have been looking into, but not done yet. Steel is about 10-11 cents a pound right now.

I watched a lot of scrapping videos like mike the scavenger amazing how many cardboard boxes left in the trash bin. I wish in the feature it will be recyclable too

Wow, that is very interesting. You should see the bins at construction sites! It is sad, especially when they could be sent to places like the Philippines. Plastic as well. Thanks for sharing and watching. Stay well.

I'm surprised electric motor prices haven't gone up in Canada with the copper price jump! In California, I'm getting 30 Cents US a pound for them, that's about 36 Canadian cents.
@TinManScrapper
@TinManScrapper 3 жыл бұрын
That’s a great price. It all depends on country, region and scrapyard. I wish they went up to that price, but glad it did not end up in Landfill.

I cant get anyone to reply to my question so I'm gonna ask, the ends of the ribbons you say is silver what about the ones that has a gold tint to them 🤔 🤔?
@TinManScrapper
@TinManScrapper Жыл бұрын
Apparently the ones that look like silver are not silver, but I know for a fact the ribbons with the gold ends are gold plated. I have a bunch too and the are connected on a lot of electronics, since gold is a good conductor. Yes, they are gold plated.

Sadly plastics is not recyclable in CANADA it is worth 2 times the price of steel here in the Philippines. And cardboard box is 0.19 Canadian dollar per kilogram. Amazing how wasteful first world country is..maybe because we are near in China that all of our recyclable material will go directly to the manufacturer of electronics there. I agree that it has affect to our atmosphere burning plastics but you cant just send it to other countries and wash your hand as if you did nothing wrong that cause global pollution.

Kirt, are you referring to the fingers at the end of the ribbon or the whole ribbon? My understanding the the fingers are silver coated. The ribbon wires are copper.
