Scrapping Quantum Tape Drives for Gold Recovery Boards

Quantum DLT4000 & DLT7000 tape drives have a good circuit board for precious metal recovery as well as a few motors for copper.
I'm scrapping a few items before I head off on holidays and thought these would be good to show the boards for those that are into gold recovery from e-waste.

You can preload new clips in advance so when you are away for holiday or something they will be released at the set date 😂 he must be enjoying his holiday and maybe check some messages at tops. 👍👍

Love your videos Ben. This may be a long post. Greetings from California! Being someone who is a member of GPAA and goes out to the mountains to dig for gold and the creeks run dry, gold fever sets in. I really want to get out there to the mountains and dig for gold but, it's more labor intensive without running water. Usually in the wet season, we throw a shovel full of mud on a sluice box and let the water do the work and we get lots of color. Well, it's been years and years since the creeks have flowed out at the mountains and I've tured to Ewaste scrapping to relive my gold fever. There is a saying about collecting gold no matter how small the amount, "it's more then what you had before." Well, in my Ewaste recovery efforts, I'm sure that is true. Mostly thanks to your videos and hard work as well as your knowledge what to harvest out of Ewaste to maximize gold recovery. I truly appreciate your videos, inspiring knowledge, and hard work . I know i'ts not easy otherwise everyone would be doing this instead of trashing their Ewaste. Speaking of which, It's illegal here to just drive around and go through other's rubbish because no one respects to put stuff back as if there were never there so, I have to rely on "curb alert" postings in the online classifieds. So yeah, again, thanks you for your videos, hard work and knowledge to inspire others to do the same.

The good old DLT drives :-) It was a nice time working with DLT´s. To backup data and restore them. Now i can see whats realy inside. Thanks for the clips on this old stuff. :-) Stay tunend ;-)

Wow I scrapped one of these during the week and I had no idea what it was. My kids had fun unwinding the two rings of copper. Now I'm left with a few 720gig hard drives. Do I pull them apart or leave them as is?

LOL it must be drive night...I just scrapped out about 30 HDD's from the old 256 MB up to 500 GB. Nice one Ben! While on it...scrapped out an old pc that had a slot card motherboard...an Olympus or something like that. It had a lot of intel chips, but could not find a main cpu...is that right? or is it an obscure chip I've not come across before?

slot cpu? pentium 2 or 3 , has a black heat sink & cover

That's just it...there was no cpu...no heat sink or cover. It had a slot card base where the mother board would be with six slot cards one of which was very large and covered with ic chips and flat packs. Its a very old pc...late eightys I would say. Just cant find anything that even looks like a cpu.

yeah precious metal recovery, large refiners get all metals, about 16 different. board sort buys in the states and others, I buy in Australia
