Hello scrappers and planet lovers. In this video, I will show you all the free tin, brass, cast aluminum, zinc, and gold you can find while scrapping satellite dishes. I will show you how to identify the metals and sort them properly to maximize your profit and divert as much of the material from the landfill as possible.

Everyone takes in the copper because it's at 4 bucks give or take. Not me I'm holding my 1500 lbs plus until it hits $6 lb. It's coming and will happen and I'm stacking

I pick up lots of satellite dishes and coaxial cable no one ever grabs them but it's all money in the pocket to me I put all magnetic coaxial cables in a separate in a large soil bag if the ends are brass I'll cut them off and throw them in a bucket to later clean up maybe save them for the long winter months here in Alberta ♻🌎👍

Try using a wire wheel on a drill or a metal scraper then wipe it clean

Will tell you this the coax cable the shielding that is tin the center it is copper. A lot of satellite coax has aluminum foil an center is copper. This is from a united States dish network installer I had done DirecTV all so . Both had copper in the center one has aluminum a shielding and the other one has metal shielding those shielding is for grounding .. it is not worth nothing as scrap. More plastic take about a foot remove the outer casing then remove the inner casing you will know it's copper . Copper is the second best video an audio . The best is copper shielding and the core is gold that is from a satellite installer. It's not with nothing as scrap . If you clean it all up 2000 feet of copper may get you 10 cent

Tin man I've upgraded up to a copper granulator machine 99.9% purity but I don't know where to sell the granules. Can you please reference me the type of buyers for granules?

eBay or scrap yard if they know you .

If your yard knows you're not a POS thief they'll take it. Hell I can take burnt wire to my yard if I want. I never do unless I have something that's extremely hard to strip

Why take It to the scrap yard when they sell it to another buyer, I'm looking for the real buyer not the middle man.

You're best bet would be eBay. Basically looking to sell to a individual thats going to be melting it down into ingots. Idk I can't see making much more of a profit from that unless you actually melt and then sell the ingot's. Then you'll be able to easily get $15 a lb . Remember there's cost involved with that even .

being direct tv installer and in my area scrap yard will not scrap dish as tin anymore tin pays more but here no one does its scrap and unless the electronic housing was after 2009 they are not alumin cast so you dont get as much also.. being an independent.. directv had a policy of solid copper and core not copper clad which has a steel core but i have been out for 6 yr and if thing are the same many still used copper clad cause buying your own material clad is cheaper all approved barrels are brass core

It may depend on area, country, yard. The yards I go to in Sarnia and London take dishes. As well, copper is non-magnetic so the wire that I showed cannot be copper, or it would not be attracted to the magnet.

Why do you call scrap steel, "tin"? Is this a Canadian thing?

If you can't tell different between aluminum or zinc you can make a spray that turns black with zinc
