@toppagirl2 жыл бұрын
“that’s why i don’t talk to your motherf$&king A$$” ain’t disrespectful? My mom is a full blown narcissist and I simply stay away and love her from a distance. Nobody’s gonna stop my blessings from coming to me. I live a good life and knowing that she hates that is good enough for me. I’m 44 years old and I’ve never disrespected her even after everything she’s done to me. Scrap needs to take accountability for his choices. He knows his momma doesn’t like his wife, so why go to your mom and vent to her knowing she was gonna do exactly what she did? If i was Bambi, i would feel betrayed, which why he’s doing damage control. When people get caught, they deflect and play victim. Yes Mama Dee was wrong, but so was he. Why not check her when she disrespected your wife by befriending your ex and becoming godmother to your child? Only when she tells everybody what YOU said about your wife is when you have a breaking point? Negro please.
@m.miller39032 жыл бұрын
Scrapp has a point about breaking generational curses. Most of us was raised in broken homes, seeing things no child should have to see, becoming traumatized by the things we've been through as children... and our parents treat us as though we're supposed to "suck it up and deal with it". Then when we voice our pain to our parents, they treat us as though we're disrespecting them, turning a blind eye to our pain. This has got to stop. At some point, our parents and grandparents need to take accountability for what they've put us through as children. As Scrapp said "I didn't do anything to you, I was a child".

This is what happens when you keep things bottled up and then it boils over and spills over. In a lot of black households, we were taught to just keep quiet in these situations. We grew up with the whole "children are meant to be seen but not heard" and it spills over into our adult life and it puts us in the position of sitting back and keeping our mouths shut, despite the parent not having the decency to keep their mouths shut. And Momma Dee had the nerve to say he was being disrespectful. If he was, there was a reason and he told her the reason: you gotta give respect to get it. I sometimes struggle with my own mother about this. She can't respect me as an adult. I'm 37 and is still being treated like I'm 12. It's my fault because I allow it and I keep quiet. Then when I act my age or when things start bubbling over aka when I demand respect as an adult and also as one of her children (im the youngest of seven), it becomes a problem. And then the arguing starts. Somewhere down the line, me keeping quiet gave her the idea that she can treat me any kind of way or tell my business to anyone or have her input whenever she feels like it. And now...I'm paying for it. Scrap going through the same thing. We love our mothers and respect them, but it's hard when you don't get that same respect back.

“You hurt? Go blame that on yo Momma. Go blame that on yo Daddy. I ain’t did nothing to you. I’m yo child! I have nobody!” Is one of the most heart-wrenching lines to come from this show. I wish Momma Dee would take accountability and admit her wrongs even if it was her best. She continues to deny and deflect and it’s breaking my heart…she can’t see all Scrappy wants her to do is understand.

Scrappy has been tormented by his mother's upbringing. There was no other way for him to express himself but to let it all out like this! Momma Dee messed up his relationship with Erica. Whenever she sees him getting love from another woman, she destroys their relationship. I really believe Erica is more suited to deal with Momma Dee than Brandi because Brandi doesn't feel for him like Erica does. All he wanted to do was please his mom and make her proud. He deserves real love. His mom never had that love, so she can't relate. So sad.
@ceceisth3qu33n2 жыл бұрын
Momma Dee messed up scrappy n Érica relationship but they also hurt each other a lot to the point they couldn’t stand each other. Erica is not better suited for Scrappy because she as well had so much trauma and wasn’t able to shore him the love he needed either and she put alot on the show that should’ve been kept behind closed doors. I feel he’s with the right person and Bambi helps him to see his flaws as well and accepts him. She might not like some choices he make but she’s not cold to him

You contracdicted yourself if Erica was more suited for Scappy because she could deal with Momma Dee; MOMMA DEE would’ve been able to mess up their relationship let’s add that she’s literally the reason why they called off their engaged and broke up; she made him choose between her and Erica and she’s doing the same thing with Bambi

@@SweetestGyrl Not saying Erica was better suited for Scrappy (although I love her) but you can chase away a good partner, one that really would’ve elevated you and held you down, by your actions. Erica was asking Scrap to do exactly what he’s doing now: create boundaries so they could flourish. But he was still in that “that’s my momma and you’re just gonna have to deal with it” mode. Can I ask something? This is a genuine question. If your father came to you and said, I am genuinely sorry. I know I hurt you. I was wrong. I hope you can forgive me, and he tried to foster a relationship, would you be open to it? I'm asking because I often think people could accomplish a lot if they admit they are wrong and ask for forgiveness.

@@jt3409 It’s not easy to just accept this stage of her life when she’s like this. I don’t blame him for not wanting to be around her and struggling to create a healthy relationship with her. When someone can’t take a single ounce of accountability for what they have done to you, it’s hard to be around them and “accept” that. This is his mother. This should be the last person he should have to worry about telling his business, or always fighting with. With that being said, I can’t blame him for wanting to continue to try to fix his relationship with her. (Although it fails every-time.)The liquor might have his feelings heightened but, Scrappy has been dealing with Momma Dee for years and has finally stood his ground. As he said, this is a generational curse and Momma Dee is only continuing to keep the cycle alive. I truly do feel sorry for him.

@@aryliso5376 yes, I agree that it hard to be around someone like Scrappy’s mother. However, when scrappy reaches that full state of consciousness, soberness, healing, and transparency he will be able to not only forgive his mother but he won’t let where she is at get him outside of where he is. Scrappy is too old to be throwing tantrums, cussing, hollering, and throwing objects. He is not in control of himself. As soon as his mother opened her mouth, the first thing that Scrappy did was sip his drink.. I pray that God will help him.

Honestly watched this episode over and over, his pain is deep down and it’s sad how sometimes parents downplay the emotions of their children For his mom to say that’s and as a result can say whatever she wants to say indicates her unwillingness to accept being wrong in the first place Hopefully, they heal (that is Scrappy and his Sister) as well as his wife However, if staying away from each other will help in healing from this childhood trauma. Then so be it I’m glad he put his foot down this time though He has evolved throughout the show and a favourite as well as Shekinah,Joc and Spice Love and light to all of them

One of the things that irked me during this video was when Mama Dee told Scrappy "you can't talk to me like that." I've been through this myself and it's prevalent in the black community that your parent(s) can do and say whatever they want to you but the second you give them the same energy or try explaining you pov they deem it disrespectful. Just because you're the parent doesn't mean you're always right and above reproach. Your child is hurting and it's not time to make it about you and pull rank. To a child they see that your dismissing their feelings and avoiding accountability. And she and others wonder why the child(ren) don't want a relationship or anything to do with you 🙄
