Thanks - it is always a benefit to see someone else's solutions for various brass model making situations. I really liked the use of clear tape to hold the parts for forming and soldering, and the sprung screw soldering fixtures. I laughed at the mop handle and cushion part - don't worry about it - I often cut off just the right size hardwood tree branch from my yard and lathe / sand it straight to use as radius forming tools...
@HobbyVideos3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your messege. I think I can bend the roof well with the mop handle and cushions, so I thought I don't have to buy any tools. But I think if you see someone making it with proper tools, you'll laugh. By the way, what do you call clear tape? We call 'sero tape' in Japanese, When I converted by Google Translate, it became a scotch tape in English.
@scottb81753 жыл бұрын
@@HobbyVideos Hi. If you don't have the "proper" tools, a skilled builder will make the workpiece with what is available. It usually just takes more care, effort, time, and maybe produces less accurate results. Scotch Tape is a brand / company trademark name - actually the company is the giant industrial 3M corporation. There are many brands of similar clear tape in North America and elsewhere. This type of clear tape is technically known as cellulose or cellophane backed pressure sensitive adhesive tape. I believe it is identical to "sero tape".

I would like to drive some of wheelbase 40mm, without too much mechanism visible below the bogie frames. Can you tell me where to find more information about the product please?
@HobbyVideos2 ай бұрын
Is wheelbase 40mm? I usually buy rail model shop ENDO. And this parts called 'MP Gear'. That homepage is this. www.mr-endo.com/ And the page of mail order is here. endo-shopping.com/c/27/sort/category/disp/20/c_p/6 But wheelbase 40mm dose not have. So your vehicle is locomotiv or pasenger car? The image of that pages are parts of locomotives. I once mods a wheelbase that was no sale into the wheelbase of one of my own locomotives. I cut the shaft connecting the axles and connected it with a 2φ brass pipe to adjust the wheel base.

Thank you very much. This model is a 1/80 model at a scale that is unique to Japan. In Japan, this 1/80th model is called HO gauge. The track width is 16.5 mm. It is a size close to 1/87, which is called HO gauge worldwide. However, the width of the actual Japanese railroad track is 1067 mm, which is 13 mm when divided by 80. So I'm making a 1/80 model with a track width of 13mm. N gauge is small and cheap, so I think it's better to buy a finished product than to make it, so I think that parts are not sold well.

Hey! I think some of the trains are ended up in Indonesia. Many Japanese used trains are still in operation there

Is that so. It's exciting just to imagine that Japanese trains are running in Indonesia.

And may I ask a question? Do you know what type of brass plate you are using? Is it "half hard" or "hard" or "dead soft"? And is it 260 brass alloy? Or 360 brass alloy? Or something different? I would be grateful for any information you have on the type of brass plate. Thank you, again!

sorry. I didn't know that there are so many types of brass. I think ,In Japan, It is sold by shop is only one type.
