i don't get it. i feel like it would be really better if new coders weren't stuck to scratch for some time but learned unity/gamemaker or any engine really from the start.

This reminds me of a certain someone. Tbh I think the main problem with scratch is the fact that it was built for a different time (2003). Since then machines have become way more powerful and don't need a 30fps 480x640 limit. I also don't get why scratch projects are 4:3. like even in 2003 quite a lot of monitors were widescreen or 10 : 16 (an aspect ratio common in the early 2000's) so i don't see why they wouldn't include them as options. Also scratch moderation sucks. edit: don't worry I will cover trending soon...

even in 2003 computers were powerful enough to run more than 30 fps and have bigger canvas than 480x640 for 2D game.

scratch is cooked. i remember when i was like 10 and it was fun but there's nothing "new" that the scratch team has added. Everything that was cool about scratch 5 years ago is old news now. the only way scratch can save themselves is if they completely revamp the website and make some crazy new mechanic to draw interest again.

i might come back to scratch in a year, as like every second or so year it becomes good again tbh 2023 was nostalgic EDIT: Also the rudeness i have got on my games, back from April to July, i was all over the trending page making easy platformers that i like to make and getting critisized for that. I have been recognised on youtube twice only to face people being rude about it. Scratch is filled with nonstop brainrot in the animations section and it feels not like a kids website anymore; it won't be able to call it a kids website because they are SO toxic these days and 5 year olds just roam it mass reporting everyone like SCRATCH REALLY SUCKS on griffpatch's chat there are fucking 6 year olds advertising their games and scratch ignore my emails when i am banned from THAT STUPID MODERATION and when they look they JUST SAY TO FUCKING WAIT IT OUT like what??? + Cheddargirl sucks

Tokyo Machine and Guy Arthur go BRRRRR. In all honesty though, this was a really good video. It perfectly sums up everything that I don't like about scratch, from the unnecessary limitations to the overprotective moderation system. The main reasons why I still use scratch are because it is in browser and because I find the restrictions like a challenge to get around.

This is the same thing I've experienced. Back when I was really new to Scratch, I was happy with the fact that it was so easy to make games and the unlimited potential the website had for me and how it really, REALLY helped me learn how to code. 2 years later, and Scratch just can't be used any more for the project quality I need and want people to see.

Im going to admit. I havent made a base scratch project in a while. I dont really like ghandi too much. Just some shady practices with extension devs for turbowarp. But i think turbowarp is a good alternative not just for removing some of the limits but for adding new features.

its because everyone is moving to Turbowarp, Penguinmod, Gandi, etc. the limits are removed, and more capabilities are added. since tw and pm are partially compatable and all tw extensions work in pm, you can do mostly anything in either of them.
