It's a shame there are no plans for this model, I'm sure if you sell them you can make a good profit for your next project. well done with the build.

Thanks for your comment. Span is 1 meter. Root chord is 175 mm. Planform is approx. an ellipse. Tapered airfoil cutouts are cut by hand. Cutting guides can be printed from airfoiltools.com . Navigate to Airfoil Search.

How will you launch it, no finger peg on the wing tip.
@AeroCraftAviation3 жыл бұрын
Grip the wingtip with thumb and fingers, and release at the end of the arm swing. Easy technique, alleviates the drag and weight of the throwing peg, and achieves about 90% the same launch altitude.

Hello I love your builds they're super solid ! I got a question, I got an Anglewing designs mini pug dlg kit on the way and given the wings are balsa and need to be covered, do you install the throwing peg before or after covering?? Thank you in advance Zach
@AeroCraftAviation4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Glad you enjoy. Regarding the throwing peg. I actually don't use throwing pegs on my designs. I find I can still throw to 30 meters or so without a peg, and then I can ditch the extra drag and weight of the peg. (Remember that the peg actually infers a weight addition of twice its weight, because it must be balanced out with weight on the opposite wingtip). But Since the Pug is designed with a peg, I would recommend installing the peg after covering. Cover the wing, then cut a hole where the peg goes. Before installing the peg, use a wire or something to poke lots of tiny holes in the film around the peg. That way the adhesive can seep into the wood around the peg without being blocked by the covering film. Also, that way any air trapped in the adhesive can leak out, and you won't get bubbly covering around the peg.

what im trying to build too, out of curiosity did you have to add any ballast for it to fly well?
@AeroCraftAviation5 жыл бұрын
Well usually you get the best glide performance with the lowest possible weight. But ballast is sometimes necessary to get good launch height or fly in strong wind. So I only add ballast for windy days or high throws, because it will always decrease the glide capability.
