I am a DJing purist, throwing down since 87 first using the record player on the living room stereo, and using the select knob as the fader, and the balance slider, with one of the speakers off to mimic a mixer. Piece of paper as the slipmat. Scissors to weigh the tone arm down. Let me say that what you are doing is pure creativity, and taking technology to the next level of DJing. Any of these turntablism people who hate and say it's not really scratching, it isn't. This is 2020 and this guy puts on a production, with chord progression, drum beats , other instruments, all live mostly. That's a lot shit to do for one guy. The originality of the routine speaks volumes for this guy. Your a gifted edition to DJing as far as I see it. Keep the videos comin homey.

Im late to the game but YO! This is real Gems here. 99% of the time I like to root for the old-school traditional style stuff, but this is brilliant! like I'm very glad I saw this. it almost pisses me off cause I feel like i did something l;like this just playing around on the decks and literally forced myself to going back to the turntables because that was the noncheating way. this is super useful information. like an instant 27% power level boost gained from watching this video! crap I'm gonna have to subscribe.

I really love your videos man. The reason why is because I grew up a saxophone musician. So I respect that you can scratch on various types of turntables. With my controller I do treat it as an instrument so I try n master it. With your help I have been getting there. With my sax experience you're better off buying an older broken in instrument rather than a brand new one. So I can respect that you are well rounded on different types of turntables. Rather than a close minded person telling me that I should start on vinyl. I will try to get all types of turntables but for now I will master my Roland 202.

I was wondering how I wanted to implement key play... That's changing the key while keeping the pitch constant. I was thinking about using the "performance pads" as "notes" to play, and wondered how to select the sample/hot cue to play. You just showed me the way: switch to hot cue, prime temp cue, switch to key play. As an alternative I was thinking about just binding the pitch slider to key change, so you can still have the loop, but in another key. Let me do some reading on how variable the key filter is.

By agreeing to enter the site, you are stating you are a qualified professional disk jockey, producer or radio programmer in the music industry. All music available on this site are for promotional purposes only for qualified professionals.

firstly want to say love your content! quick question, you mentioned doing this content trick about using your dominant hand with the cue button. ive been trying to teach myself how to scratch and im obviously learning alot quicker on my dominant side. should i be focusing on getting the skill even on both sides? can you scratch just as good on both sides? any tips would be much appreciated!
@priyonjoni5 жыл бұрын
James Guraliuk start with your dominant hand on the fader. It will feel unnatural, but after 2-3 months of practice you will realize it will expedite how fast you can learn advanced scratches.
@priyonjoni5 жыл бұрын
James Guraliuk Sorry I misread your question. The reason I say use your dominant hand on the cue button is because you will have more control. I know it’s weird for right handed folks bc it will look crossedover. But your fingers are faster on the button using the dominant hand.

All DJ music pools have an agreement with record labels that the music they distribute is for promotional use only. And access to them isn’t just for personal use. If every person that are non professional DJs started getting access into these service, labels would stop allowing to pools to distribute their music because it would result in a loss.
