Go back and watch Olivia's death and you will see Jill holding her phone against the window filming her death. Also the very first time we see Jill Kirby tells her "you have to promise not to kill me". Biggest foreshadowing ever. Also, this movie was actually marketed as the passing of the torch with Jill as the new final girl. So imagine the shock of that reveal back then.

One thing I love about Jill is that she doesn't have the sadistic killer glee that we see on so many of the others, because she doesn't get anything out of the kills themselves; they're just a means to an end. To me it's much more frightening when the rage is calm like hers. She also doesn't make the same critical mistake as the others (i.e. turning your back on the final girl so she can get a weapon and turn the tables); she incapacitates everyone, THEN sets the scene with her own injuries. If she hadn't slipped up with mentioning the matching wounds, she could easily have killed Sidney in the hospital and (assuming that the way she killed her didn't set off alarm bells) snuck back to her room and gotten away with it all. Excellent villain.

If you look at Olivia's death scene @12:38, you can see Jill pull out a phone and record through the window. Super subtle detail but crazy how they put it right in everyone's face and most people (including me) never noticed.

I never thought scream 3 was bad but scream 4 definitely brought the franchise back to its full horror roots which I love. This take on remakes was fun. This movie was very ahead of its time especially with Jill’s motive. Sidney is no longer afraid going straight into action kicking ghostface’s ass in her first encounter with him in years. The gore is back as shown with Olivia. Jill is my favorite killer with her reveal being one of the most if not the most shocking bc it’s an actual family member Sidney grew up with knowing. Sidney once again lost someone precious to her with her aunt. Kirby was a great character. The opening even tho it’s my least favorite is the most entertaining opening to watch. Jill being the most psychotic and evil ghostface is very apparent killing her own mom, wanting to kill her cousin, her friends shrugging it off like nothing and then harming herself in the process. She was the smartest killer and came the closest to killing Sidney got 2 stabs in the stomach. There will be no slander of Judy the queen of lemon squares. I love this movie and this franchise sm.

Screw the test audiences. They should’ve rolled with it. Also they didn’t have to confirm Sidney’s death or not. Just show us Jill being carried out and the media surrounding her. Than imagine Scream 5 with Kirby being the lead and her and Jill are like best friends living together at this point, Jill becomes a survivalist star and doesn’t tells Kirby her secret. They both get a phone call and someone is haunting them. That’ll be cool. A killer being haunted by a killer. Also all that’s mentions of Sid is that she’s in a coma with low chance of coming back and more than likely Kincade will pull the plug on her so Jill not worried. I just looked it up, Rory Culkin IS Mcaulay's (Kevin from Home Alone) brother!! Wild! I honestly think Emma killed this role! Her twisted desire to replace Sydney was crazy, and her reasoning of always being overshadowed is perfect reasonable to someone who has gone completely insane. I don't think Scream 3 was as bad as some people say it is, but this one for sure is really good! I can't wait for you to see 5 and 6 if you do continue the franchise! I think Jenna and Melissa really revitalized the series and gave it a new edge while still keeping things the same nostalgia we love about it!

This was the first Scream I was able to see in theaters. I loved it so much because I was born in 96 so I didn’t have the same understanding of the famous 90’s cast members but this movie had so many iconic 2000’s actors so it was a great way to bring in a new generation of fans. Kirby’s monologue where she quotes all the remakes gives me chills. Some hints Jill was the killer: When they are all in class and get a notification about the murders, Jill doesn’t pick up her phone. When Olivia is being killed and Kirby and Jill watch from the window, Jill has her camera facing Olivia recording it. Great reaction! Glad you enjoyed. This one has a special place in my heart. ❤️

Scream 4 was crazy ahead of its time, and in an era where EVERY single horror film was a remake (which, clearly Wes had some strong feelings about), it did something completely different and pioneered the "requel" a solid decade before every other franchise on earth would start doing the exact same thing. Scream 4 is and always will have a special place in my heart. It was also the last movie the late great Wes Craven made before he passed. For the longest time this was the last Scream movie I could bring myself to watch. So much time had passed so many changes both for the movie and the fans who grew up with the original trilogy. This one truly scared me as at the time a lot of movies and tv series took the risks in offing legacy characters and it made you think this was the one where Sidney Prescott would bite it. But once again though all the scares and near death experiences Sidney came out the last one standing. Jill is definitely one of the top people to don the Ghostface persona Billy and his mother wanted revenge but Jill’s reasons for fame born out of the resentment of living in Sidney’s shadow was reasonable motives it also shows how much of a psycho she is. Jill had a good life and was more than willing to kill her family and friends all so she could live out the fantasy of being a surviving hero. She’s like Michelle Carter on steroids.

I think only second to Casey Becker. Only thing was the plot hole. The cops were in the car when Olivia got home and they told Dewey they saw GF and they pursued on foot but he got away. How and when did GF get into Olivia’s closet if the cops saw him after Olivia was inside? It was solely Charlie too since Jill was with Kirby. I can show you a video where neve campbell ranks it last, zack cherry does, matthew lillard does, i can show you a twitter poll down by screammovies it was voted worst, you can pass me your email and i can send you all of this. Because i still have all these saved. Screenshots and videos too. On facebook scream 4 is also considered the worst. Whereas Scream 3 has its own dedicated group. 3 used to be the most hated ill admit but has aged like wine. I never see praise for 4 except it being wes final movie.thats i nobody likes emma roberts except ppl who find her hot.

Ever since you started reacting to the Scream franchise, 4 is the one I've been the most anticipated and nervous to watch your reaction to and I'm so so so relieved you enjoyed it! I hated this film the first time I watched it, took me a good couple of years to fall in love and now it’s my favourite of the whole series! It was my first time experiencing nothing in the trailer being in the film and it threw me off massively 🤣 my favourite ghostface his voice is so angry and vengeful, his attacks seem more personal and angry, the cast were amazing! Ghostface asked her a question where the answer was going to be one of them, so she instead named every single one to stall for time and show that her horror movie knowledge is incredibly impressive.

My small conspiracy theory for this movie was that Wes Craven, after learning that the Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 remake was bad, got inspired by the theme of remakes and talked about it to Kevin Williamson. Scre4m was released in 2011, a year after the Elm Street remake.

I reckon it definitely, at the very least, contributed. They were remaking like EVERY horror flick when this one came out. And Wes and Kevin clearly had a lot to say about it. I mean, they made a villain who literally attempts to remake the original events, but with triple the gore, and with a new young cast to replace the aging stars of the franchise. (Because Hollywood hates nothing more than an actress over 40). It was even marketed to give the impression that Jill and her pals were essentially taking over the reins, and the original trio were basically just gonna have a bit of a cameo. Wes (and Kevin) always wanted to make a statement about the film industry with these movies, and this one just knocked it right out of the park.

It's honestly one of my favourites. Emma plays her character in the most brilliant and unhinged way. It's also my favourite motive for a killer. 👏🏽👏🏽 The movie has some really obvious flaws, but it's strengths are just as obvious and outweigh the weak parts. Alao Hayden killed it in her lil monologue!!
