That sound is a result of the VFD's (Variable Frequency Drives) used on the motors driving the rubber tires in the middle of the track. It allows very precise and steady control of the train's motions, both forwards (and as seen here) backwards.

This is no big deal. Floorless coasters meed to park the train really precisely so it lines up with the movable floor. If the computer senses anything going wrong as the train is entering the station, it'll stop it and not raise the floor. All they did was put the coaster in manual mode, move the train back to the block before the station, reset the station, then put it back into automatic mode. That allowed the train to move into the station and park in position as it normally does.

Some logic systems will not allow the operator to clear the block when prox switches are made. This is for safety reasons. The operator simply drove the train back so the prox switches would not be made allowing the block inside the station to be cleared and reset. Once cleared and the fault reset. The operator can put the HMI back in auto mode and let the program drive the train in.

They only ever run one train on scream what kind of bull is that? They had two more in the shed when I went, also they were running barely any trains for everything, Twisted Colossus had 2 (surprisingly they actually dueled when I was on the green side), and 2 for Tatsu, (and none for green lantern 😁)

ok, I think i know what happened, Looks like they had to clear the station block to allow for a second attempt at bringing the train into the station, easiest way to do that is to pull the train back to a transfer track and retry, its fairly sop in case the train doesnt stop in the right spot. though this ride it has to be timed so that the other train doesnt arrive at the brake run while they are performing this. I used to work at six flags on revolution, we never had to do this as mispark while it did happen, was usually something that only required maintainence to unlock the brake and we pushed the train into position, not easy, but can be done

Yes, the ride ops can move the train forwards or backwards.

The operators don't, supervisors and mechanics do. The coaster is in automatic mode during operation, in this case the only controls to move the train are two dispatch/advance buttons that when held down together, move the train in the station forward to the lift then move the train behind the station forward into the station. All other train movement is automatic and not controlled by the ops, unless they press a stop button. They also have control of the restraints and gates, but that's about it. Manual mode (which is enabled by a key that ops don't have) allows every part of the coaster to be individually controlled. It's used to add and remove trains and to fix problems like this. You have to be really careful when using it as you can potentially cause trains to collide, and you're never allowed to use it with people on the ride except in circumstances like this where it's necessary to unload the ride.

They must've pressed for it to go on the transfer tracks which is how they store it after it closes since the one behind your train almost backed up. Was most likely on transfer track.

It's probably to clear the block. I think (if i have it right) that it would have sent you around again to the lift had it registered the train. Probably to dead reset and home the train.

What happened was the train was sent back to the storage transfer rail because it was still behind the train. When the train was in that full section, the train was then brought forward.

Got stuck on the station platform of this ride a couple months ago for like 10 minutes. It's already one of the worst roller coasters in Magic Mountain so I just won't ever ride it again. Why is it in the parking lot? It's seriously got the worst scenery of any roller coaster I've ever been on. It's not a very existing ride, but it would be fun if it went through some of the beautiful heavily forested parts of Magic Mountain. On top of it all I think the floorless gimmick adds nothing to the riding experience.

I hate this ride with a passion, while i was riding it my seatbelt harness and everything came loose and so did the little over your body hydraulics. My friend dislocated his shoulder holding me in place sitting next to me. when i told the staff they shrugged and thought i was joking so i went to the main building and told them the car number and everything and they didnt even do anything about it. (No i didnt want money or some type of free stuff i just wanted them to remove that car or shut the ride down and inspect it. either way im terribly afraid of roller coasters since that day

It's possible, and not at all dangerous, for a ratchet-based restraint to pop up by one notch. Tha's almost certainly what happened. It won't go up any further. There are two separate locking mechanisms (not counting the belt that attaches to the restraint) and both would have to fail during the same ride cycle for the restraint to open completely. This has, in fact, never happened. And if it did happen, it would be physically impossible for someone sitting next to you to hold you in your seat.
